As for the topic -- and we all know the topic of age appropriate dressing is near and dear to my heart -- I am coming around to the opinion that there is more pressure for an outfit to "work" as you get older.  You can be a hot mess of trends when young and it can be colorful or cute, but when you get older, you might come off as crazy.  Similarly, as you age there is more pressure to get the proportions and fit right.  This is why better fabrications, cuts and designs work better on us over 50.   Now mind you I don't always heed my own advice.  And I make mistakes.  That's why I also liked Simon Doonan's colorful style and sage advice, which is of the live and let live variety. anne on "A published piece in the NY Times" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/a-published-piece-in-the-ny-times/page/3#post-1045958 Sun, 06 Oct 2013 12:52:49 +0000 anne 1045958@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Congratulations Angie.
