I think this question made me realize that one thing that holds me back from reaching the upper terrace is I still dress down to my audience, even though I already challenge the environmental norm A LOT. I mostly feel confident about the way I dress, although there is also lots of room to grow, so I will give myself an 8.

Do I feel the pressure to blend in too much? even though I don't? *she asks herself*

I'd say I'm at a 4. I've learned enough to know what doesn't work, but I haven't figured out what DOES work that I love and will wear. Sigh... At least it's a mostly fun process!

I would say I'm at a 7.5. Having been stuck at a 2 for my whole life, 7.5 isn't bad, and it's fine to feel like I still have more to learn and a ways to go.I am having fun and that's a 10!

I think I'm an 8.
I don't know if I'll ever evolve any further, because I don't have an innate sense of style, and I copy rather than create.
I've made a lot of progress, though.
I learned how to use accessories, to be open to new trends, to take an extra effort.
Instead of overusing jeans I embraced dresses and now they're my signature item.
I also understand body types and colors much better and I stick to cuts and colors which flatter.
But, I'm a terrible hoarder and I have an absurd number of things which create confusion and clutter in my wardrobe. I tend to get carried away with the fit and price, and get things which cannot be fitted into my lifestyle or which I already have in my closet.
I should concentrate more on quality and versatility of the pieces I get, and be less influenced by transient styles and people I look up to (not only fabulous ylf members, but also my very styilish coworkers and neighbours).
I'll become a 9 when (or if) my wardrobe becomes smaller, more organized and more functional.

Great idea, QM! Overall, I'm giving myself a 4.5. There's a long way to go on my journey. I'm going to take the liberty of rating my sister, too (then I'll go back and read everyone's responses to see if she has already chimed in). April is a 10, although she might feel more comfortable with a 9.5. There are so many layers and so much more understanding to be had!

I'd say realistically I'd be at a 5.

I'm the first to admit that I *really* struggle with what I see in the mirror vs reality of what others see and this sometimes leads me astray. And I am still struggling with the notion of fit and making sure I hide my flaws and highlight my assets.
However..... given that I was probably about a 3 before I started, I can see that I am making some progress. Hopefully this time next year I'll be about a 7!

I'm a 5. I understand most of the basic principles now (PPL, shirt lengths for skirts vs trousers) but waffle with a consistent style. One minute I'm Bohemian, the next say preppy. Once I can stick to one style I think I'll move up to a 10 fast. I;m just having a tough time identifying what one style I want to have.

I'm going to go with an 8. Most days I'm very happy with my look. And compared to a few years ago, I have gotten much more adventurous with trends. One area I need to work on is breaking out of denim as my go to staple. 6 out of 7 days I wear jeans. I'm trying to vary that up more with dresses and pants.

I have really hard time with these point systems but I will try...
I guess I am about 5 or 6. My wardrobe is still going through the purge and I am still getting used to new styles I have never tried before. I also feel that I do not really know what my style is and swing between styles even during one week. I cannot say I have a dress success every single day but at least I know now when I don't have it :-)
After all I think being in the middle of the range is not to bad for somebody who did not know what YLF is just 6 months ago...:-)

I'd say a 4, but I also feel like I'm just getting started, and I'm studying very hard. The whole discrepancy between what I see in the mirror and what I see in photos has really shaken me. It's just so unnerving to realize that all the times I thought I looked pretty good, I probably didn't. But I'm working hard and photographing each and every new outfit I put together, as well as every new purchase, and I already feel much more confident because I wear only things that have passed muster with me and with the YLF community. I feel pretty competent with identifying which things flatter me and which don't, but I definitely need a lot of work on being more creative and daring in my choices. But like firefly, I'm really excited about the possibilities. I don't feel like I would ever have come so far without YLF. What an amazing resource this is.

I feel good about my closet, I have worked out the size of wardrobe I want to have, and I feel quite confident 6 days out of the week when I walk out the door. I am slowly learning to not compare myself to others here and work with my own body, persona, lifestyle and budget.

I think intellectually I am at a 7 or 8 but in practice I pull in a 5 or 6. Too many days I never leave the house and/or when I am working I am in uniform, so I have less opportunities to put the knowledge into action and learn by doing. I also am wary of jumping in on trends and surrendering the waistline but am getting a little better in those departments.

I'm gonna say 7. I feel really good about where my wardrobe is at, how to make the most of my clothes, how to dress my body, and (usually) purchasing items that are going to be well loved and look great! However I still find myself unsure of how to best utilize accessories, some outfits definitely look better in my head than in person, and my recent skinny pant purchase made me realize I need to figure out what they're appropriate for and what to pair with them with. There's still much work to be done!

I'm probably an 8 or occasionally a 9. But I really only dress for 3 days of the week.

Interesting question, Kim! Can't wait to hear your answer :)

I've been feeling kind of 6ish these days. Last year, it was higher, but now I feel like I am in a different phase in my life and trying to figure out how to work it stylewise. I definitely have the basics down though, in terms of silhouette, balance, and length.

Kim, what is PVC?
(Unless I'm being dense and you literally mean the plastic, and not a fashion acronym that I'm unaware of.)

I kept trying to think if it was related to VPL (visible panty line!)

Great question.
Sad answer - I'm 3 :(
I've weeded out everything that does not fit or is wrong color or size (1 point), I have clearer idea what I should and should not be wearing (2 points), I no longer buy anything as a safety purchase and I make no compromises (3 points), I have at least one outfit for every possible occasion sorted so I don't need to panic-buy (4 points).
But, I seem to be going through a phase when I'm too scared to make any purchases as I don't want to repeat the mistakes from the past (-1 point).

After years of shopping items primarily because they were the right length, it was a very slow process turning my entire thought process around, but I think I'm pretty much there. But, having limited choice where I actually can shop does not help, as I can have perfectly clear idea what I want, but the bigger sizes in general mean wider, not longer sleeves or lengths. It's quite disheartening at times, but I'm practicing patience, wait for the right stuff and in the meantime take pleasure in making the most of my current wardrobe and getting inspiration at ylf forum :).
