I'm so glad you posted these all together, Jewell! They are all fab, but the Abbey Road and the Pink Floyd are my favorites -- very repeatable!

Sounds to me like you met your goals for the challenge and then some!

Thanks for the feedback, ladies!
Krishnidoux, it's a relief to hear that I'm finally getting a sense of proportions. I'm short waisted and leggy and wear different sizes on the top and bottom, so balancing proportions is one of my figure flattery priorities.

@JG: I completely left out the part about using six new wardrobe items in my outfits. In fact, day 4 was the only day that I didn't wear something new. My new pieces were the striped sweater, printed button down, olive and dark rinse jeans, denim jacket, and the navy star scarf. Right now the piece I'm most excited about is the printed button down peeking from under the sweater. It's shaping up to be a really versatile item.

You did an amazing job of interpreting the colour of the albums but also the vibe of the artist. The inspiration of the stripes on the road of Abbey Road was brilliant. Very impressive!

I am so impressed with this! Such fun creativity, and look at the beautifully, elegant yet casual outfits you came up with. I don't know which one to pick as my favourite, I think I'll go with 5 because you totally have the perfect silhouette to carry the look off with chic. 1 and 3 came close too. All of them look fantastic. Bravo!

And you have a great sense of proportions too.

All five outfits look great and are fun interpretations of the album covers. I'm a sucker for argyle in unusual colors or silhouettes so the sweater makes outfit 3 my favorite.
How did you do on your goals? Surely you achieved #2 and #3, but how about #1? Did you use your new clothes in the outfits?

Wow! You did great with this challenge! I can see the album cover inspiration in all of your outfits. I think that my favorites are #2 (Alannis) and #3 (Pink Floyd.) The red with the purple in #2 is just stunning on you and what a great denim on denim outfit (I many times struggle with denim on denim - not ever knowing for sure if I've got the right mix.) Also, #3 - the rainbow argyle sweater is perfect! That sweater is so gorgeous - such a modern way to wear argyle. Also, love the touch of the red shoes. Very cool!

Here is my roundup of outfits inspired by the covers of the 5 bestselling albums below.

Day 1: The Beatles - Abbey road, 1969

I was inspired by the stripes on the pavement and the gorgeous green trees. I love stripes and I wanted to feature them in my outfit, so I paired a striped navy cable knit sweater with olive jeans to echo the green of the trees. The ruffled yellow bag added a little “princess” to my preppy look.

Day 2: Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill, 1995

I was inspired by the combination of colors. This was my first time pairing red with purple, and I liked it a lot. I also used this opportunity to experiment with denim on denim.

Day 3: Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, 1973

I was inspired by the rainbow of colors and the geometric shape of the prism. I immediately knew that my rainbow argyle would be the cornerstone of this outfit. I added dark rinse jeans and shiny red flats to complete the look.

Day 4: Santana, Supernatural, 1999

I was inspired by the brilliant colors and patterns, but this one was hard for me. I don’t typically wear THAT MUCH color, and I don’t have many (okay any) printed tops. I had to rescue this maternity top from the donate pile. The psychedelic colors and print were just what I needed. I paired it with dark jeggings for an easy and colorful look.

Day 5: Bruce Springsteen, Born in the USA, 1984

I was inspired by the colors and the laid back nature of Bruce's outfit. I repeated the denim on denim combo from Day 2 and added a navy & white striped tee, a navy scarf with red stars, and white sneakers. I’m actually wearing stars and stripes!

This was my first YLF Picture Perfect Challenge. When I signed on for the challenge, I had three goals: 1) integrate my recent purchases into my existing wardrobe to create new outfit combinations, 2) learn to draw inspiration from unconventional sources, and 3) have fun with fashion. Before this challenge, I got all my outfit inspiration from bloggers and catalog models, so I really enjoyed the creative process of interpreting the cover art to build an outfit for each day. Most importantly though, I had the most fun I’ve ever had with fashion!

Thanks for reading!
