Tam - thanks for that info re the red shoes. Very useful! I haven't shopped at Myer much for years except for shoes and lingerie. But don't worry I am a frugal sort and won't be buying things willy-nilly!

I used to love Cue but they are a bit highpriced and formal for my current lifestyle.

Anne I used to do a lot of shopping in Myer, but not so much lately. The only things I've bought recently are from brands you can buy elsewhere that aren't the cheapest anyway e.g. Stella McCartney, Ben Sherman, Cue. The Myer brands themself I used to like but now just find them overpriced for what they are. Maybe its my student budget still lingering on, but I find that Target has better designs and for half the price!!!

I agree with LOP about getting basics there though. Shoes will be pretty much the same price anywhere and they have a great range of bras and underwear if you're into that!

p.s. I've seen the red hush puppies that I bought from Mathers at Myer as well, if you are still interested in them!!

LOP, that is quite a good idea - ie using the gift cards to get the nude shoes. I may save some of the vouchers for those ( I doubt I'll find any there in July as they don't see to be sold in the the Aussie winter).
I got $240 in vouchers so I could still spend some even after putting aside some for the shoes
You're right about Myer not being cheap in general, but I think it does vary a lot from department to department.

I don't live in Australia, but I shopped at Myer a bunch of times during my stays down under. It was not a cheap shop, somewhat between Macy's and Nordstroms in the US. I suggest you define your basic needs, like the nude shoes, and get good quality ones using your Myers gift cards. Then you still have your $120 in your pocket for accessories and little finds you like. I think you can get a bunch for what you have if you don't restrict it to specific items. Does that make sense to you?

Well the $120 is going to be spread over therest of the year ( and I'll spend whereever). I want to buy nude shoes and some walk shorts at the beginning of summer and I don't know if I'll have much left after buying those.

So the voucher money is extra to that. So if I find at Myer some of the things I'd like but aren't on the prority list, I'll get them them. These include a sweater dress, a warm jumper for winter (this is really almost on the priority list), another pair of shoes or jeans, a watch, MAYBE an impulse buy (you know me, I am pretty cautious!). If I don't I'll just save up the vouchers for summer, or next year, or to buy a new food processor!

I have not shopped much at Myer (apart from shoes and lingerie) except in their Miss Shop department, which is where the cheaper and more youthful styles are. So this will force me to look at the rest of the shop.

I don't know, Anne. One stop shopping sounds awfully restrictive unless there is literally no other way. Wouldn’t you rather spread it out over the rest of the year?

Well I have only about $120 left in my clothing budget for the YEAR! but I have thought of a way of extending it. I have redeemed most of the points in my credit card rewards programme for vouchers at Myer, one of the big department stores in Australia.

So for my next shopping day in the city (in July) I plan to try and restrict almost all my shopping to this one shop, which will be quite a novel experience for me. Of course I won't buy things just for the sake of it, and the vouchers last for ages so they won't go to waste.
Unfortunately, Myer has practically nothing on their website, so I can't look at things first.

1. Anyone done this before (the one shop thing)?
2. Can any Aussies help with websites for Myer stockists?
