34" would be 2 inches above the knee for me - you can see where the 44" falls on me in my thread and I'm 5'1". I would seriously consider this if everyone hadn't approved the long one. I think you would ROCK the orange. Try it! It really is a great dress.

Oh, my. The midi version has not spoken to me at all, but this one is whispering rather insistently...

Totally, Laura! Una and Cathy are shorter than you are - and they rock that frock! Plus, your height is in your legs - an added advantage for this style.

It's a YLF order, Princess Stripe.

Do you think so, Angie? Okay, I'll add that one and we can compare and contrast when they arrive.

Oh, and by the by: Stripes and I are a hot item right now. Ruffles is officially back on the market, if anyone is still interested.

Yes, Ana - that's what I was thinking too. But 34" is going to be really at least a couple of inches above the knee. I am praying for a mis-measurement. Lisa, the tunic idea might work, if the dress doesn't show every lump and bump from my jeggings and/or skinnies. Maybe denim leggings would work. And they'd better be control top

I'd be very interested to see a photo when it arrives as well. I don't really like midi-length on me so I'm excited about this shorter one becoming available. I may stock it until it goes on sale.

Gorgeous dress. Well I suppose if it is too short, you can always wear it as a tunic with skinnies.

That sounds like it would be perfect knee length for a shortie like me but probably too short for everyone else. The colors are beautiful though. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Update: Oh, crud. I just measured my Jones NY midi, and it's 40 inches from shoulder seam to hem. Anthro says this dress is 34" long - it's going to be waaaaaay too short if they are measuring the same thing! The other version is 44 inches long ...

Okay, after seeing Angie's recommendation modelled here multiple times, I went to Anthropologie.com and what to my wondering eyes did appear but a new version of the dress. This one is blue, with full-length sleeves, and shorter. It looks to be 10 inches shorter - eep! I hope that doesn't make it too too short. I ordered it and will model it when it arrives. I am hoping that the length will be just below the knee on short little me. If it's above the knee, it will go back, since one of the best parts of the dress everyone's bought is the length - it keeps it demure, given how fitted it is. But it might be worth a try if you are petite.
