Maybe the belt would feel restrictive, but I didn't have it super tight, and I would compare it to maybe keeping the clasp of your necklace at the back of your neck all night.</p> <p>If it were hot, I might take off the jacket, because it is a totally acceptable, solid black bralette. (But I might do a few more sit-ups before I went out.)</p> <p>Androgyny is one angle, and certainly club culture has a long history of that. But I don't think it's necessary at all. Look at how popular bodycon dresses and platform heels were for years at clubs--those are more feminine than this. Balancing masculine and feminine elements seems to be a good general practice, that doesn't need to be practiced everywhere. I do love ankle pants, though, and I would try that.</p> <p>Here is a photo of just how girly people were dressing at clubs a few years ago, and the second is the group En Vogue, who kind of dressed like this. Those laced heels would look great under some ankle pants, just saying. I thought of my one true waist belt, a simple black number with gold hardware, and wondered how it would look against my bare skin.</p> <p>So here I tried it with a pencil skirt, lace-up heels, a simple bralette, and my new Chevron blazer. Truth be told, I would like to dress like this all the time, but don't for various reasons, especially foot comfort. Also truth be told, I WOULD wear this out, and might be able to find a reason at some point.</p> <p> </p>
