My Dad did like to see me dressed up and looking smart in colour. He was of the generation that really did not understand why anyone would buy ripped jeans or anything distressed. I wore a black dress and jacket to Dad's funeral and one of his best friends gently teased me, asking if I had become a bikie being dressed in black. Work has been a fantastic distraction, because I love my job - it is interesting and I work with great supportive people who are checking in with me to see if I am OK. I do think it takes time to deal with these sorts of losses.
