No chance to take photos -- had to go to the emergency vet because one of our dogs got bitten by a copperhead (it seems we cannot go a week without some veterinary incident). But I threw them on quickly and tried a couple of tops and think they will be quite workable. I wouldn't mind removing the elastic from the back of the waistband. The tie can actually be tucked inside the pants to wear with tops that tie at the waist, so that's nice too. The pair I thought would be more likely to work on me looked terribly frumpy, but this pair surprised me (especially in the rear view, which I always have very low expectations for, as it is not my best side LOL). They are a little bit heavy and stiff, but no more so than denim, so I'm wondering if they may still be cool enough for summer because of the roomy cut. The high waist gives me a little pause, but trying them on at home with various tops will give me the answer of whether they are keepers. PLUS, a really good sale price, so it seemed like it was worth the order, since I was ordering that white top anyway. Well, besides the fact that the rise of the too-small size was riding up my nether regions. ;-D </p> <p>It may be a little tricky working tops with them because they have that tie in the front, and tucking doesn’t work for me. A lot of my summer tops have tie fronts, so I don’t want competing ties at the waist. If the top is slightly cropped, it can work, or maybe a semi tuck could work. Wide crops are REALLY tricky on me. The combination of high waist and width tends to emphasize the width of my hips. I *think* these looked good. Of course, they're too high waisted for me to tuck tops in, but they seemed to look good with that white top, so I think tops that are not too long nor too short will sit nicely over them -- the tie front tops I have may be good candidates.
