Ok, I feel a DIY coming on! I actually don’t fold that much - I prefer hanging so I can see what I have. I do love the look of neatly folded, filed drawers and used to do this for DD’s drawers. But it would only last until the first time she got dressed.

For me it depends how I'm folding. If I hold a shirt in my hands, turn roughly the outer thirds to the back and fold it over nearly all in one motion, it's faster than I can do the Flip-fold. But if I lay it down, smooth it out, and make sure not to add any wrinkles while I fold it to a precise size, then I'm slower than with a Flip-fold.

Robin, I don’t think it takes any longer to fold with this than any other way I’ve folded. In fact, it seems to kind of make it go faster, but that may be my imagination.

I only do Kondo method folding on certain things because we have shelves in our closet, and not many drawers.

Funny to see Gap mentioned, I was going to say that I saw one of those in use at a Gap once. I'm sure it would help me fold better but not sure I have the patience to use it. Does it take longer than just folding the Kondo way?

I do an extra fold at the end for items I’m “filing” in drawers like pajamas and layering tees. But other stuff is stacked on shelves in our closets, and this method creates really great uniform stacks. I find that so satisfying!

Glad I’m not alone.

Suz and Shiny, they come in different sizes so if you want to fold children’s clothes or small items, there is a size specifically for that. But I just got the standard one. It folds up flat to store, but it takes up some space even so. I want to figure out a way to hang it on the wall in the laundry room to keep it out of the way but handy.

Ha ha, yes I have one of those. I discovered it in the Container Store, and was like, yay! Standardized folding. However, I stopped using it for my own things because I started using Kondo‘s method to fold knitwear and pants to make them stand up in a drawer. Have you found a way to make it compatible with that? I still like it though because my young son enjoys using it to fold laundry, which he otherwise would not do.

I am not a talented folder, and I find it so satisfying to make every item into a same-size package.

Not weird at all that you find it fun to use. One of my nephews so enjoyed folding things using the Flip Fold at my house that his mom bought him his own for Christmas.

Does this fold to stack flat or to stand up vertically?

I personally like the Konmari vertical folding method. It's not that difficult to master and I love how the clothes in my drawers are so much more easier to select and pull out without the whole stack getting messed up.

Total game changer for me! I "converted" about two years ago and my clothes are still standing at attention in their drawers...

I would love to have one! I remember in middle school I noticed how they folded t-shirts neatly at the Gap with a little plastic board. I'm a little obsessive about folding my laundry neatly but it's hard to do it without a nice flat surface to work on.

I got one for my son when he was a pre-teen and still wanted to do housework. He loved it and folded lots of laundry, helped us pack for trips, etc with it. I used it to pack for our move, because completely uniform stacks were easier to pack into suitcases and even worked better with the vacuum bags. Ours is green, a smaller size (because his clothes were smaller then). It still works for our clothes, if we do one last flip to fold over the "extra" bits that hang off the sides.

I got ours at the Container Store. Idk what the price difference is. Sterling, there is an instructional video here https://www.containerstore.com.....lder/12d?p

Another nerdy little folding thing I like is the Eagle Creek travel folder, which comes with a folding card with instructions. Not because I'm a fastidiously neat person; because I'm the opposite, but might still need to look put-together where I'm going. It helps pack things tighter too. https://www.containerstore.com.....;q=eagle%2
