All righty then, the forum has spoken, including Angie! I do wonder about sizing up, but it's really just the upper arms and the way it feels more than how it looks. I can see it with everything that I'm wearing the fabric Theory blazer with and more - it just adds that extra edge.

Angie, do you see any reason to try a size up? It may be too long in the arms if I do that... do the shoulders look good to you?

Thank you all so much - it's a big scary moment for me, taking this kind of plunge. Rita, now you have to get the Rag & Bone boots!

At this point it's probably KEPT, and I vote KEEP. Please know that leather jackets will stretch out and you don't want it to then be too loose and baggy. They always loosen up.

How is the comfort factor with sleeves underneath? If it were my expensive jacket, I would want more coverage to protect the jacket from body oils, etc.; mostly from the etc. It looks truly fabulous, better than on the model, and I bet you will wear it more often than its sister fabric jacket. Would that bother you?

It is very easy for us, who are not paying your bills, to urge you to buy, but IMHO, this jacket would be well worth your $500 even if it means you would have to sacrifice a couple or three pairs of shoes/boots/booties. I faint at the full price, and even $250 would cause me to hesitate. But this jacket for you -- it is a no brainer. Hope you keep it.

I'm with Rita. I don't think you should size up. Leather does expand a lot. As a matter of fact, I went to my local Allsaints a few days ago to exchange a T- shirt and ended up trying some of their leather stuff. The advice I got from the SA was to buy snug so the leather will "mold" to conform to your body over time. I wholeheartedly agree. The fit as is is very eurochic and avant garde. You might lose that sharpness in a size up.
You might wonder what the *H* I was doing at Allsaints.... I have a dark side, I promise:

I don't think I would size up. Leather stretches as you know from your leather skirt. The shoulders will conform to fit on your body. It will fit you like a glove after a few hours.

OK, having read all these glowing reviews, I am now going to be the voice of negativity. I like this on you, but I don't love it. (In contrast, I LOVE the fabric version on you.) I have three questions/concerns.

- This doesn't look too small, exactly, but I think the more relaxed fit of the size 8 is cooler. And if I were you, with cleaning leather being such a pain, I would want to wear more than a tank underneath.

- Can you scrunch/roll the sleeves on this like with the fabric version? I think that improves the proportions.

- What would you wear with this that you couldn't wear just as well with the fabric version?

Absolutely fabulous!
There's zero doubt that you should keep this jacket, the only question at all is which size. I think the fit here looks good, but if there's any doubt in your mind I would try the 8 just to compare and be positive that this is the best size. I'm betting that the 6 is better, but I would not want to have any doubt.

I have a feeling that this jacket will be something that you will wear often, feel great in, and enjoy for years to come!

To me the fit looks perfect! I don't see any snugness in the upper arm areas in the pics--you still have some drape going on through the shoulders and upper arms to my eye. The fit through the torso and waist is immaculate. LOVE! KEEP! To heck with All Saints and their leatheh :).

ETA: I guess I should ask how you *feel* in it? Do you feel spectacular? That's the key, I think.

It looks amazing, Una, but I do have the same question as Gaylene: what made you decide to size down? It actually doesn't *look* overly snug -- have you tried it on with the sorts of layers you'll be likely to wear it with?

Since you're probably unlikely to wear a leather blazer with a sleeveless top beneath, will the sleeves accommodate a fine-gauge sweater?

My questions are less K/R than K/E (keep or exchange). I think this jacket is YOU.

Holy cow, I had to come FAST and say you must, must, must keep this jacket. It's a 25 out of 10. The fit is perfect for leather, IMHO. It will look even cooler when it relaxes and ages with wear. Perfect!!!!

It looks great! It doesn't "look" too small at all. Does it feel too small now that you have worn it a bit?
