This is kind of off topic but I think you have a very cute figure!

I like the first one as much as the second. I like, and think the very slight curve of your stomach makes the outfit more feminine, I like the top, think it flatters your shoulders and the color is great on you.

It's a challenge to find dressier shoes that are comfortable but the ankle strap, which I think you like, is so popular this year maybe it's worth looking?

I think you made a great save with the rolled-over waistband. The skirt appears to fit beautifully.

As far as the proportions go... I am longer-waisted like you (although not as slim) and I am very self-conscious about that chopped-in-half silhouette like #1. (The only thing I dislike more is the top half being just slightly longer than the skirt.) For that reason, I prefer #2. Both the untucked top and the longer third piece prevent the half-and-half look.

Thanks, Smittie - yes that sort of disguise of legs is exactly what I need!
Thanks Ann

Thanks Angie - hmm, that shoe comment sounds familiar. Never much love for those shoes here on YLF! But it was wet and I didn't want to wear sandals, and those shoes are SO comfortable and have just lasted and lasted!
I'm so glad that the weather is cooling down and I can wear hose again with shoes which I find so much more comfortable.

But I appreciate your saying that the proportions work with the cardi. Discounting the shoes, do they work with in pic 1?

I like the shorter length for your hemline, it's really flattering.

Love both renditions.
This is excellent on you!
Yes, you would look great in a super high waist skirt! Even higher than what you show in pic #1!

PS: I think A-line might work better for the high-waist silhouette than pencil, as it disguises where your hips are, so you can't tell that your legs start lower down.

Thanks Jenni. I agree that the semi tuck looks much better than untucked. Curved hems seem to make my tummy look bigger. In fact I had always intended to semi tuck it but forgot when the cardi photos was take (the first picture was after) I prefer how my shoulders look in with the cardi on though - in fact I do for almost any outfit!

Well I like it in pic 1 better, I prefer the way you have tucked the top in that one. I suppose it does cut you in half a bit but it still looks nice, both colours good on you so I say rock it since you can fit it.

I bought the fabric for this skirt over 12 years ago, and made it maybe 10 years ago. The pattern I used was from the 70's and I am not a size 10 in 70's sizes so it was too small. I mucked around with it a bit while sewing, but it still only fit once, when I was particularly skinny from breastfeeding.

Fast forward to now. I discovered that I CAN fit it - if I turn the waistband over to raise the hem (like girls did with their school skirts at high school). Because it is an A - line, it makes it a little bigger around the bottom - which is where it was too tight.

I would like you feedback on the outfit. When wearing if I thought it was lowish contrast (the skirt is heathered purple, btw) but in the pictures it looks higher contrast and I fear the proportions are cutting me in half. Also not liking the look of my shoulders with that top.

The angle of the photo might be an issue - it was taken by DD9 - but I am beginning to wonder if I should move into super high waistedness if I want to even out my proportions.
