What are the elements of the look or feel of those clothes that speak most to you?&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/a-few-wiws-a-few-thoughts#post-1681527 Sun, 19 Jun 2016 19:29:15 +0000 Runs With Scissors 1681527@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I made an effort to pull out a few things I hadn't worn in a while this week. &nbsp;Not sure it was 100 percent successful, but this is something I need to keep investing effort in. &nbsp; I'm also pondering how to track any progress I make on the personal style front, which for me is not going to be an overnight process. &nbsp;I think reading posts here at YLF, I am slowly absorbing knowledge and inspiration. &nbsp;The next step is some kind of personal tracking. &nbsp;I do have one thought on this, and I'll post more if I get it to bear fruit!</p> <p>1. &nbsp;Lululemon Jet Crops. &nbsp;I struggle with pants that are not jeans, but I do like these. &nbsp;They look best when standing -- sitting, they pull tight on my thighs and start looking less like work-wear. &nbsp;The back rise could be a tad longer too ... but that's the story of my life. &nbsp;</p> <p>Wearing them here with a t-shirt I made, a Lulu jacket, and Frye Carson ballet flats.</p> <p>2. &nbsp;White skirt. &nbsp;I am one of those people who does not feel entirely comfortable in pure white, especially on the bottom. &nbsp;As others have pointed out, this is probably aligned with RATE tendencies. &nbsp;But, this skirt is linen, and thus perpetually wrinkled, which is oddly redeeming according to my aesthetic. &nbsp;That said, my husband made me stand in front of a window for a transparency check (the skirt is lined) and while he grudgingly gave it a pass, it was clear he didn't feel entirely comfortable with it!</p> <p>Wearing with a favorite thrifted cardigan and a white layering tank, and some Rocket Dog espadrilles with a tiny gray pinstripe that also don't see enough wear.</p> <p>3. &nbsp;Olive skirt, and new scarf -- gift from a friend. &nbsp;I don't really like how I styled it here but will keep trying -- I love the scarf! &nbsp;The olive skirt hasn't been worn in a while. &nbsp;It's linen, the same as the white one (and like several others I have -- I picked them up on eBay for a song a few years ago after buying one and wearing it to death). &nbsp;But I have trouble finding good pairings with olive for some reason. &nbsp;Seems like it shouldn't be so hard!</p> <p>Wearing here with often worn black tank top and hoodie, and Simple mary janes. Kind of a yawn without the scarf.</p> <p>4. &nbsp;Nothing new here -- favorite jeans, rayon t-shirt, and often-worn merino hoodie. &nbsp;With some Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers. &nbsp;And honestly, this was the outfit that I felt best in this week! &nbsp; </p>
