Ive heard good things about the Ouidad line. Glad it's working out for you!

I think you're right. I'll get the haircut and then think of adding more product, if needed. Your curls just blow me away, Aida. They're GORGEOUS. I think I need more time to "understand" my real hair after 6 years of artificial straightening. I'm sure I'll figure it out.... Thanks for all your help!

Ah good, a curl defining product is a must IMO especially with "weather" I'd say wait on evaluating products until after you get it cut. It'll be worth seeing how much of the issue is simply the cut, and then from there you can figure out if there's something else that can be helped with a new product; plus you know how the cut behaved with the previous weather so you'll have a good idea of what you need specifically for right now.

I've changed my product/styling routine a bit this spring and am really liking it. Been meaning to post about it, I'll try to write something up later this week. Short version: Found a new line of curl products that I adore called Ouidad; I'm using the first two below (curl gel and refresher spray) and am planning to add the third (clear pomade). It's quite extensive and has mixed in with my other products (all the other Finds, sorry some are so huge!) really nicely.

Wow Aida. That's extensive advice. Thanks - really appreciate it.

Currently I use Argan Oil as a serum. Wait a few minutes and then use a styling product called Loreal Techni-art Spiral Splendor. It's basically a cream that helps define curls. Post that - I allow my hair to air dry. It looks terrible the day I wash them, but slightly better next day. I suspect you're right - the longer layers are weighing it all down and I've been avoiding a cut just to be able to make a pony....but I don't think it's really worth it! I like your idea of keeping shorter hair off my neck...better learn that trick!

First off, cute outfits! I am amazed at how pulled together you look in your weather. I would, no joke, be reduced to a sad melty puddle in a corner somewhere. The first three are especially Maneera-y to me: peplums! dress+sneaks! wrap tops! The colors in the third are soooo light and summery! I love how they look with your skin and hair. FUN pants. Would love to see a more cropped/structured top or perhaps a tucked top with those for a crisper outfit variation.

Re the hair, YES to what SL, Angie, and Roxanna said: Get it cut. Even if its just to shore up the layers if you decide to continue growing it out. Curls, especially with shorter 'dos, really need those layers updated in order to behave the way we want. When they get long they get unruly and weigh themselves down. I get mine cut roughly every 6 weeks but if I could budget it in I'd do it every 4.

I personally adore the shorter cut on you so my vote would be to go back to that. For hot weather with that length of hair, it's true that you can't pull it back into a ponytail BUT you can pin the underneath bit up into an even shorter faux bob which works just as well. I like to do a weeee baby pony with a clear poly band, twist the pony upside down so it's covered by hair, then use a couple bobby pins to secure; after that I pull the shortest layers back OUT over the top. Like in the last outfit in this post, or here or here (this one has some detail photos).

And lastly, the products of course make the biggest difference. It is entirely likely that you are going to need to adjust your styling routine during the monsoon season, and that may extend to different products. You mainly use oil and air dry right now, right?

Thanks Jenn. That's really sweet of you. Well, my *hourglass figure* has taken a bit of a beating, thanks to a lot of stress eating. I'm trying a new eating plan now and hope that I'm going to get back in shape. I don't want to go into fall & winters with extra weight.....it looks worse under all those layers.

Thanks Di. You're a doll <kiss>

ABC----where have you been??!! Thank you for your sweet comments. I do feel more comfortable with my 'style' now. Thanks for noticing

Looking great, especially for what I'm sure was a stressful time going to and from the hospital. My faves are 3/4 and 5/6. Not as much love for 5/6 so far, but I find it to be a lovely, relaxed modern classic look, and I like that the top is sheer enough to reveal a hint of your hourglass figure beneath.

The peplum is so you, or I always think of you when I see one bc of our earlier conversations. Lovely color and very flattering top.

I love the crossover top as well and those mint green pants look like a nice light fun summer piece! Love your rendition here.

Keep it up, girl! You've got this style thing down!

Ooh, the new bag and the new silver sneaks! Love! You look sensational as always Manny. Love you in that top in #1 and the dress and sneaker combo is gorgeous. Also looking sleek in the wrap blouse and fresh and minty in draped neck top and pretty pants. I hear you on the necessity of tying hair back in humidity. I get my hair trimmed next week, but I don't want much off because I want to be able to tie it back on holiday.

Hey Isabelle! Thanks. Well, you've never ever been wrong when it comes to my style The grey dress IS MOST ME. The other pants outfits were more of an obligation for hospital visits. Regarding my hair....well, I take your advice VERY SERIOUSLY, so no straightening. However, if I cut my hair right now, it'll be impossible to tie up. And it's REALLY humid here! (Btw-re my last post on the grey bomber - I did send it back based on your feedback and I got a S size which turned out to be just right. Thanks a bunch for that!)

Sally - thank you for all the sweet comments. Yes, I am sure you understand my hair woes. I highly recommend a peplum for you! Thanks for all the top options advice with the mint pants. I should do a styling session soon!

Thanks LeDonna. You know how to make a girl feel good all the time! As do you, Rachy!

Bijou - you're super sweet. Thank you I love the idea of navy with the pants!!! Didn't think of that. And I love the idea of striped tee even better!!!! Thank you so much for those ideas. I promise to try on tops with the pants soon and post pictures.

Thanks Sisi. Your story made me laugh!!! Oh well....the Versace pants sound like quite the find. I know just how you felt ((she says, dreaming about the Celine bag all over again)) How I wish I had the money lying around to buy perfect designer items! I wish you all the best in your hunt to find a more affordable pair of green pants

Your hair has grown and you just need a haircut, no ? I like your short and wavy hairdo better than your former long straight one, to be honest.

All pretty outfits. The "light blue" tee (I see it turquoise) is very flattering on you. The Aztec dress looks like the most comfortable thing on earth (it's very nice paired with the silver slippers). Third outfit - simple chic. Mint pants, oh yes!

Some years ago I wanted so much a pair of light green pants. I couldn't find any. Finally, in a big famous dep store in Milan I saw the "perfect pant": medium waist, sigarette shape, wonderful cotton, a pretty apple green ... There, I thought, I found them! Ops, they were Versace and they cost 600 euro ... I did not buy them. But then repented.

#1 is wow! Don't worry about your hair when you look this fab! The new bag and shoes are so lovely and even more special given they were bought by your husband. I agree with Sally to persevere with your hair as once you can comfortably tie it up and wear it up - it helps with hot and humid weather. I also love the other looks too. I would wear white, black or navy with the mint pants. Have you tried a striped T-shirt with them? All extremes of weather are horrid, but hopefully cooler weather is just around the corner.

Wowsa - you look sensational in 1. What a gorgeous look on you. I must must try a peplum - they should work on me too :)

2 is lovely - just a perfect hot humid weather look.

And I also like 3-4. I think the mint pants will also work with black top and sandals, or white...and I know you have lots of neutrals to play around with.

I like the kinky hair but I do know the feeling. Slightly longer hair is easier when it is super hot and humid, it is good to get it off a sticky neck.

Hi ladies,

I've been somewhat missing from the forum!!! My parents were in town last week and my dad went through 101 tests...the good news is that all looks good and my life can now go back to normal!

These are a few things I've worn lately.

#1-2: Version 1 of Angie's light blue + black ensemble. This one is easy for me! Black skinnies worn with peplum light blue top and black espadrilles. Bag was the surprise gift from hubby

#2-3: This is a grey Aztec print tshirt dress I've shown you guys before. It's proved to be a workhorse, as our summers are going from bad to worse! Worn with silver sneakers my husband got me from UK

#5-6: The 2nd version of Angie's light blue & black ensemble. I'm wearing black trousers (far comfier to wear in hot & humid weather compared to denim!) with another light blue top (the color here seems darker than it is IRL)

#7-8: I don't wear many pastels. But I fell in love with these mint green pants. I wasn't sure of what I'd wear with them, so I bought this complete outfit. This floral drapey neck tee is what the mannequin was wearing with the pants at the store, and I bought the whole thing. Trousers have an elastic waist so they're comfy to wear at home (I think of them as jogger pants!)

Thanks for looking. The photos here are still too dark...my apologies for that.

As you can see, my hair has grown long & wild in the humidity and I'm getting sick of it. I am considering straightening them again, though I hate what those harsh chemicals do to my hair in the long run. We'll see. For now, I'm kind of growing it so I can easily tie back into a pony until this horridly humid weather passes.

Thanks for looking. All comments/inputs are welcome.
