You look terrific in both of these, but if the vest doesn't work for your life, then it's no good to you ... mind you, perhaps as someone mentioned you'll wear it in some other compartment of your life.

Always love your optimistic spirit!

I like the first outfit. Yellow suits you! I prefer the second one without the vest. Love your shoes. If you could shorten the vest to about knee length I think it might be less dominating and less annoying to you!

Joy, your idea is an excellent one! Having the sides stitched down, to perhaps the knee would give the vest a bit more structure and prevent an abundance of fabric draping itself over furniture and kids! I like that idea a lot and it should be a very easy alteration! I will pin the sides first and see how much that improves the function. Thank you!

You have made some great outfits and your accessories are a wonderful addition. You mention the high slits in the vest as at least part of the problem. Could they be stitched at least part of the way down from the top to help control the bossy vest?

Thank you all for your kind comments and for understanding my vest angst. I really appreciate the suggestions to save the vest for less active events, or to shorten it. Part of the problem was that the sides have high slits....almost to my hips, so there were 3 panels of lightweight fabric that seemed to have minds of their own. They were moving every which way.
I give myself an A for attitude and effort and a D- for functionality. As I said, a lesson learned.

I am glad you like the yellow. That helps me a lot. I like yellow, but am still not confident about the color, so your comments are really helpful. You have not steered me wrong yet.

My sister is an expert at stacking her bracelets and I am having fun experimenting with mine.

These are terrific outfits on you but I do understand about the annoyance factor of the vest. Alas. I think if it were more structured it would work better, but then it would lose the "floaty" quality. So maybe it will be a piece for outside of work hours.

I am a bracelet girl so I have serious case of drooling right now. They are super great.
I hear you on the long vest. Mine frustrates the beegeebees out of me also. I love it but limit my wearing to mostly in house and very sporadically out. I had a long sweater that was a bit shorter that was an easier length to deal with . I wish I could modify it to that better length but can’t without wrecking it. Let me know if you find solutions.

You have a wonderful collection of bracelets and combine them well! I agree with Jenni in that the grey vest is a little dull for you. It has no shape and structure, and isn't adding anything to your look - and the pants/top combo is great without it.

I think the combination of lightweight fabric, volume, and the long length make the vest difficult to wear from a practical standpoint -- I can understand how it drove you nuts! Might you consider hemming it to a shorter length? I know it would lose some of its drama, but you would gain wearability.

I think that yellow looks fabulous. The lighting is a little off (it's so hard to get good photos isn't it) so maybe we are getting different impressions from what you see. I was laughing at your description of how that long vest worked out....thinking of Stevie Nicks twirling around in her long skirts..voluminous outfits are .great for a theatrical/musical performance but not so good on the floor with kids.

I prefer vests with some structure, so I understand how this one proved too fussy for actual work wear. Maybe it can be a “standing only” piece, similar to Angie’s “sitting only” shoes!

Spring is beginnig to make a stronger showing, so I have been able to wear fewer, or remove layers. This week is loaded with extra long days, so comfort has been a priority.

#1,2. Yellow and gray. I liked the ease and comfort of this outfit. Looking at the pics, I think the yellow is ok, it not great. Next round I will try it with a different scarf or some statement jewelry. Happiness factors are my bracelets: one was a gift from my husband, another a gift from my sister and the H is the one my twin and I both have as a memory from our recent visit.

#3,4,5
Navy base with sandals! I tried a new look: the long vest. Ooh, I loved the look and the floaty fabric when I moved. It was so much fun.....until I bent over or sat down. What?! Too much fabric falling down around my ankles, getting wrapped around a kid, getting rolled over when working at my desk. That vest ended up being a huge pain. Of course jewelry save the day! I ended up doubling my necklace and liked it shorter. My bracelets made me smile all day, despite the nagging vest.

Please feel free to comment and give suggestions. I always appreciate you looking and helping me refine my style choices.

Add some happiness to your day and stay fab!
