I have a very similar cardi like your's-and I love it. Thus, I would rather&nbsp; call it greyish off white--(for me a taupe means warmer to sandy)-if I can make it out well from the picties. I sometimes am a cooler sometimes a warmer blonde, and think this shade&nbsp; matches a cool blonde&nbsp; like you are at the moment but can be&nbsp; &nbsp;purposefully used to cool down&nbsp; a warmer blonde&nbsp; person-and you would definitelly get a great use of it as an alternative to bright white, or cream. As I think I said earlier that "shacket" will be an indoor - only topper for a few more months. I think you are right that hair sometimes stops accepting dye, or it can also happen that they dye formulation inexplicably changes (my stylist once told me that happened with an entire line she used ). The changes can be subtle so it takes a little time to notice it.&nbsp; And you are very wise to suggest I not cut tags on te sweater until I get the hair color sorted out. I don't usually wear this taupe color but this particular sweater neckline is so deep that I must wear something underneath, so will add a different color to brighten it up a bit. I know what you mean about different shads of grey, silver etc but when I look at my two brothers close to me in age (not gauarnteed to match me but good indicator).&nbsp; I see hair that is completely white. :-)&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks <b>hereforthecake!</b>&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Anchie </b>I can see that taupe would be (and is) great in your wardrobe. The striped sweater is also good from what I can tell and I agree with those who suggest maybe trying to add some of those colours to your closet! Love the short shacket -- cozy and a good choice for your frigid early spring.&nbsp;</p> <p>The taupe sweater works well with the current hair colour but you might want to wait to cut those tags until you see what happens at the salon.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sometimes hair just stops accepting the dye, I think...which may be possible to address with deep conditioning or something. </p> <p>But also, your "no-colour" might not be what you think any more. It can be hard to tell from the tiny strip of roots. Based on my own root line against the dark honey blonde of my dye (which was close to my natural colour as a teen), I thought my own hair was going to be "no colour flat mousy" grey. But no. My natural color is a no-color white that would be most unflattering, based on what I see when the roots grow out. I've colored it for decades (the white first appeared when I was in my late 20's) with the same stylist and same color, but lately it seems to have lost some of the warm tones.&nbsp; My stylist suggested adding some lowlights which she's done a few times but I don't think it's making the color any warmer. April is cold spring here, and a lot of May is too. I’ve been feeling&nbsp;very neutral/minimalist lately with the addition of a smidge of solid color&nbsp;here and there. These pieces feel reasonably current and not too classic .... but would love to hear what you think.&nbsp;</p> <p>The new pieces: </p> <ul> <li>Taupe vneck sweater. T Tahari. I generally stick to warmer versions of light brown but giving this a try.</li> <li> Warm yellow boho blouse. Rachel Zoe. I adore this color!</li> <li> Striped Cashmere sweater. Cynthia Rowley. It’s funny, the stripes are all colors I "don't wear", but I like them together.</li> <li> Ivory corduroy jacket. Avec Les Filles. Sort of a short shacket.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>1. jeans, yellow blouse, loafers<br />2. same with taupe sweater added<br />3. blue pants, striped sweater, ivory jacket, loafers<br />4. olive jeans, ivory jacket worn as a shirt, boots </p> <p>The pants/footwear are all from my closet. I didn’t do the full “make 3 outfits” for each but I think they all will work well. </p> <p>I am in serious need of a spring footwear refresh which will be my March focus. I’m thinking light camel booties in a fairly refined style, black sneakers with some sort of white design and NOT white soles (that will be tough), sneakers in a light camel or similar. (I have one pair of light camel slip on sneakers but they read very masculine to me and I don’t wear them much)</p> <p><i><b>Would love to hear any and all opinions, especially about the taupe sweater vs my coloring.&nbsp;</b></i> </p>
