I don't think one can ever ask questions that are too trivial.

The hidden wedges are not the trendiest shoes at the moment, but they are far from dated, too. I will continue too wear mine for sure.

I think that sweater can definitely work under a less tailored coat, such as cocoon shape, one of the new faux fur ones or maybe a looser puffer.

I have been also enjoying wearing flares again, though not as often as I'd like because of the weather and heel requirement. I even recently got my first pair of bootcuts in ages, I couldn't resist the little hem slit and two-toned detail.

I don't have an answer about the wedges- if Angie says yes then they are fine.

The sweater would work perfectly in my climate... mid weight is perfect for me.

I also love full length flares and bootlegs but do not own a pair right now!

I never saw many of the hidden wedges in my neck of the woods, so they don't look dated to me. They would look fashion forward in my territory.

As for the faux fur vest (I was pining after a similar one at WHBM), I envisioned wearing one underneath my winter puffer, which is quite roomy and wouldn't make me feel squished.

I'd only wear this if I could flip the collar to the outside of the coat, otherwise I'd feel far too bundled up and bulky.
I like this type of garment for wearing in the car, when I'm not going to be exposed to the elements for too long.

I love that sweater too but understand what you mean about it being best for a mild climate. I have a long cardigan with faux fur collar that is a problem to wear under coats, especially because of the length. My long puffer does work . The down seems to magically compact to accomodate bulk.

That sweater is gorgeous! I think it t would work under any roomy winter coat, including fur or faux. I wore a mink collar on a velvet kimona last winter under a flare faux fur and got lots f compliments.

I don't think most fashion is designed for an imaginary magical climate; more like an imaginary magical lifestyle where one steps delicately from their doorman building, covered by a canopy, where the walkway is always swept, shoveled, or de-iced, into a waiting limo, to emerge onto another pristine walkway and straight into Nordstroms.

As a Southern Californian, I sometimes envy those of you here who have whole wardrobes of coats and boots, scarves, gloves, and hats !

Lol on the SoCal comment ... I swear most fashion is designed for some imaginary magical climate ... You know, the one where you can wear every beautiful sweater on earth but have no need for socks ha!!

Nothing annoying or trivial about either of these questions. Plenty of ladies here in my neck of the woods are still wearing hidden wedges with panache. The sweater you refer to is gorgeous. As Angie just mentioned -- a cocoon style coat or roomy puffer could easily be worn over it. I purchased two puffers (one long and one knee length) at one size up from my regular fit specifically for the purpose of wearing over bulkier toppers. Works like a charm. I also have a dressy cape coat that is ideal for this same purpose. And I say Hooray for Flares and Bootcuts. I love them as much as you do.

These are good questions, Andrea. I assure you that no one is annoyed with them.

1) Hidden wedges are not dated.

2) A cocoon coat or cape could work. Or a gigantic puffer that fits over everything.

3) I'd be wearing my full length flares more often if it wasn't so wet around here. Looks elegant.

I hope it doesn't annoy people when I do these list posts. My head is full of trivial thoughts and questions, none of which merit their own thread. ;)

1.) Are hidden wedges dated now or on the verge of being dated? I fell down a Sorel rabbit hole when I saw a blogger wearing a pair a couple weeks ago and find myself inexplicably attracted to these:
http://www.zappos.com/sorel-19.....ge-black-2
http://www.zappos.com/sorel-lea-wedge-peatmoss

Snow/ice/slush puddle season lasts a good three to four months here so another pair of waterproof, thick-treaded boots would not go unworn, but feel like that hidden wedge look was super trendy maybe 3 years ago?

2.) I love, love, LOVE this sweater:
http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....=378571002
I also can't figure out how one would wear a coat over it. Is this the kind of garment they make solely for people who live in So Cal and who never actually need a winter coat but wish to feel winter-y? Go ahead, burst my bubble.

3.) I just want to say, I am SO happy to see y'all on the forum posting pics of yourselves in flare and bootcut jeans recently. This is my absolute favorite jeans silhouette and the one in which I look the best by far. I bought a pair of old skool Lucky Lil Maggies this fall and they are basically all I want to wear on my off days. Haven't managed to get a WIW pic yet though.
