My Dad lived until age 87 and was very frail when he died. He was well until 81 and a half when he had a stroke. I hope your Dad does OK for years yet. I find it hard to take WIW photos myself. I just feel incredibly self conscious taking a selfie. It is so much easier when photos are taken to remember a special event. My Father is definitely of that generation of where dressing up was a sign of a special event, so wearing a party dress and my faux diamonds was appreciated by him. Dad had a new shirt for the occasion too. His generosity, loyalty, strength and bravery are qualities that I appreciate so much.</p> <p><b>Skylurker </b>- as a child my mother constantly dressed me in blue and so I rebelled in my teenage years and wore black almost constantly. Of course, Mum knew best and blue is definitely my colour. My parents had 4 children, so we all took turns to be part of the speech - and I was very lucky to be able to talk about the fun that we had growing up as children.</p> <p>The first photo is of me, with my Dad and son, me and Bijou (my West Highland White Terrier) and finally me giving a speech at the party.</p> <p>I always enjoy seeing your photos (particularly of celebrations), and so I thought I would share a photo of a very special occasion for my family. </p> <p>My Dad loved his party and when he said a few words, one of his key messages was<br />"it is the love and friendships that you make in life that truly matter" - very wise words from someone who has made a great milestone birthday.</p> <p>What I Wore:<br />Blue taffeta dress by Cue<br />Pink mini handbag by Samantha Thavasa petite design (received as a gift with purchase of a bigger bag and used constantly since getting it - I am now a convert to mini bags)<br />Peter Lang choker</p> <p>Bijou is wearing a hand beaded collar from Africa - her one and only accessory! </p>
