Thank you all very much for your kind words and advice. So, when it comes to hemming those jeans, I have decided to do regular hem, and length as for regular bootcuts, which is for me a tiny bit above the floor- I like to wear my jeans as long as possible.

You look great! It's so nice to see you back again.

I would hem the jeans as for bootcuts. I never do the original hem on any of my denim...I just request the same color of thread as the rest of the garment. I don't think you need to do that unless there is something really special about the hem.

I love your outfits. You wear your hems the same way I do, so if they're wrong, I'm in serious trouble. LOL! My rule of thumb is that the wider the pant leg is, the longer the inseam length should be. I also make sure my wider-legged pants clear the floor by 1/2 to 1 inch. I don't want to look like I'm expecting a flood (old joke from the 1970s), but I don't want to walk on my pants. Hope this helps!

Thank you all very much!
Carole, hemming with original hem is usually done to preserve the look of the hem, and the tailor will cut of the hem, remove the excess material and then reattach the hem, so nobody can tell that the jeans have been hemmed in the first place. It looks like there is no need for that here, so I will ask for regular hemming.

I wish I had some adviice for the hemming question. I am unsure. I think it would depend on the width of the bottoms. But they look great here!

Super outfits, too. I always love seeing interpretations of Angie's fab formulas. And it's neat to see casual and dressier looks in one post.

I wouldn't worry about the original hem thing with colored jeans although you could ask for a Hollywood Hem (which my alterations lady told me is faster and a little cheaper for her to do) and it keeps the original hem in place but adds a little thread just above the hem line.

I love your date night dress on you!

I don't think you have to have the original hem on the colored jeans. But I never get my jeans hemmed with the original hem, just the original thread color, if that makes sense.

Here are a couple of my outfits from this week. The first three are work ones and all have very different vibe to them - the first one is a bit more dressed up for a presentation, the second was for uber-casual day in the lab involving lots of packing, and the third one is a literal interpretation of Angie's colored jeans formula: with grey/white striped top, grey leather jacket, grey shoes and a cream bag. The fourth outfit for a date night is my old trusty DVF wrap navy dress, updated for the season with green accessories.

About red jeans in #3: these are my only colored jeans, which have been sitting in my closet for about half a year as they need hemming and I never got around to doing it. I even wore them here folded and un-hemmed, but that was a pain! So, does one hem colored jeans with original hem or not? I know that blue denim jeans need it, while white don't, as they are made of uniform twill. Also, I am kind of stumped at the length at which to hem them. The jeans are "skinny bootcut" jeans, and they are basically skinny with slight flare at the bottom that has to be stretched to go over heels. I am thinking to hem them as if they were regular bootcuts, but not certain. I have included a link with stock photos if that helps. http://www.richandskinnyjeans....../1292.html

#1: cream Mango sweater vest, lilac Express shirt, Joe's trouser jeans, nude Franco Sarto wedges
#2: Gap denim shirt, Proenza Schouler for Target striped tee, olive VS skinny cargos, grey suede Aerosoles wedges
#3: Frenchie grey leather jacket, BR striped top,. Rich&Skinny wine "Wedge" jeans, grey Aerosoles wedges, cream Kooba bag
#4: navy DVF wrap dress, green H&M cami and green enamel BR bracelet
