I count myself lucky. The only time I ever felt forced into clothes I hated was at church as a kid because pretty, dainty dresses with white tights and buckled dress shoes were <i>so not me,&nbsp;</i>but I was raised Episcopalian, and dressing up like that was all but mandatory. I chose 12 images that best reflect the style I'm going for, and put a great neon sign in the middle that says "forget the rules, if you like it, wear it". It's like a SUPER condensed Pinterest board (which is, of course, where I found the images over several years). </p> <p>I'm trying to figure out a style moniker and I thought bringing a little of everything together into one image to look at the pieces together: academic, street, punk, urban, folk arty, professorial, casual, quirky, RATE. So far, the best I've come up with is "Punk Professor on Sabbatical", but that's a mouthful. Then again, so am I. </p> <p>I'm super open to thoughts from others, and would LOVE to see collages others have made, or ones you make in response to this if you think it'd be fun for you. The idea I went with was a bit of everything I like, to get the spirit more than actual pieces (though some things, like the snake print booties, do resemble pieces I own), but of course you can always DYOT! </p>
