I haven't set out to buy things with lots of texture, but I do see the pattern now that it's been pointed out, and I am certainly drawn to textural elements. When I put together an outfit, beyond the basic practical questions of what I'll be doing and where I'll be going, etc., I am thinking about comfort (physical and psychological), balance, mixing textural elements and shapes, that sort of thing. I shop a lot, almost completely online, and buy lots of things used from TheRealReal. Since I've gone back to work in-person some of the time, I have gotten back into blazers, after being off of them for a bit. So right now I am building my blazer assortment, and starting to look toward more spring and summery things (e.g., I just bought a white gauze oversized shirt).</p> <p><b>Brooklyn,</b> thanks for the shout out to my pup, Mr. T :). He didn't know *what* was going on--I think he thought I was packing to take a trip, which always makes him anxious. I am delighted to have inspired you with the skirt/blazer/button down combo! This skirt is actually asymmetrical, but I am wearing it so the shorter part is in the front and the longer in the back, because I thought the asymmetry looked weird with this sort of skirt that's not sharp at all, if that makes any sense. The cargo joggers in the first pic (and also in #17) are by a brand called By Malene Birger. I got them from TheRealReal, of course :), so I'm sure they are long-gone from retail. The brand is carried by Nordstrom, but it's on the pricey side (I got the pants from TRR for $35!). The brown and cream checked flannel pants in 2-3 are from The Great. They do that sort of silhouette all the time, with different fabrics.</p> <p><b>Angie, </b>you are such a sweetheart, thank you for your kind feedback! Mr. T says hello back :). I totally agree about the pants lengths! I have been trying to integrate some longer lengths just for the sake of variety, but I agree with you that somehow, shorter pants just work better on me.
