Spent too many hours outside without my mask, running up and down a hill, trying to find a buried sewer service entrance. (Long story.) So not feeling fab today.</p> <p>I realized that I don't have many good basics--and right. We need them. I've spent the last 2 1/2 years mostly in jeans and casual colorful tops.</p> <p><b>griffin</b>, I bought my usual size 8. In NYDJ a 6 fits me better, but not in regular pants. They do have a small pocket in front. I will try the Vince pants.</p> <p><b>Carla</b>--just realized today the first reunion is just 3 weeks away and I'd better start planning. I need to ask where it will be held. The second reunion will be in a classmate's back yard--a relief because it's a high covid city. Quiet, versatile pieces aren’t boring IMHO. They are unsung heroes! Great jacket! I was looking at those pants. They were out in my size. It says they run large. Did you take your regular size or size down? I was hoping for belt loops and pockets. But if it pops back I would try them. Thoughts? Did you look at the vince coin pocket pants? I have had them over a year. Cropped and cotton so a little less dressy, although I wear them dressy. But they have attitude iykwim. Good to showcase a bootie. The vince runs smallish. I’m a 2-4 and the 4 is fitted. I’m currently at budget for NAS so unless something goes back I’ll try and pick up a back up pair on sale. Sneakers are great and love the bathrobe. Simple and elegant isn’t easy. I have been hoping to find a longer black jacket, not too casual or formal, so I bought the one from Nic+Zoe. It fits well and will be useful. I do have a BR black blazer but its short and seems too dressy now, so not worn for a couple of years.</p> <p>I also wanted a pair of nice black pants that fit, for whenever something comes up, such as a funeral. I got these knit pants from NYDJ, they are 2" too long, so I'll get them hemmed. My old ones look a little shabby but are still useful. I &nbsp;hoped to find some nice lightweight wool ones, perhaps from Theory, but I didn't find anything.</p> <p>I didn't intend to make a suit! Haven't tried them together to see if it works.&nbsp;</p> <p>I bought two pairs of sneakers, one Vionic, one Adidas. I have other kinds of Vionic footwear and they work well for my difficult feet. This pair seem to work, and surprisingly, I like the gold stripe.</p> <p>I used to wear Adidas a lot, but haven't for a long time. These seem to fit well. I need new walking shoes--the New Balance style I've worn for years don't work anymore.&nbsp;</p> <p>I also bought a bathrobe and a bra. Other bras and another pair of NYDJ in a gray-beige were cancelled--out of stock.</p> <p>I've got 2 reunions coming up: Mr. Maven's law school and my high school, both put off 2 years because of Covid. Haven't begun to worry about what I'll wear. Last law school was very dressy.&nbsp;</p> <p>Right now I have the fashion blahs.</p>
