My pair was stolen, I mean borrowed, from my brother and I chopped the legs off with a pair of scissors and let them fray. One of us, I can't remember if it was me or him, had tried an inexpert bleach job to lighten the color and so every time I wore them people told me that I had sat in something because the bleach looked like a stain on my rear end. Shades of déjà vu! I think I wore variations of this outfit all through high school in the early 90s. Although we called them tapered jeans, not skinnies, and I sure hadn't spent several hundred dollars on the outfit.
