Thanks JENNI for checking.! That mix is very good. I have pants in that

CAROL Viscose is natural.

INDIGOPRINT I find some viscose very cool in the high heat. I think the jersey type viscose is more hot. Generally it is fine with gentle cycle washing. Line drying is a must. I find it's also fine when in a laundry bag. Actually any item that needs hand washing has been fine in a laundry bag. But items wrinkle a lot in the bag. I don't feel like having to iron in high summer!

Thank you all! After your input I've decided to pass on this top. I already have two white shirts in 100% cotton. It is not the same quality or better than these.

Any percent of Viscose makes the garment too hot for me to wear on a summer day. I do not have trouble laundering them, but I do wash gentle cycle and line dry.

Hi Star, I checked, 55% linen, 45% viscose. Both pairs of shorts crease, but hold up well in the wash.

Well, these women will know more than I do. But this is a good reminder for me to focus on familiar, natural materials. No more poly is a big goal of mine. When I see a blend, or fabric I haven't heard of, I have ordered it, and then regretted it when it showed up in the mail. It probably looked comfortable and cool on the website, but turn out to be techy and unpleasant..

Thanks Suz and Brooklyn.

Brooklyn I'm not too worried about shrinkage but I've had viscose items develop holes and even fall apart. Linen is a strong fabric and from your experience it sounds like even just 20 % is enough to do the job of making it stable. The other thing I do is use laundry bags for viscose items which saves them, no tugging and pulling, but bagged items do crease a lot more.

I have an 80% viscose 20% linen dress that I just dyed in order to turn into a skirt. It was less than $20 so I took a gamble dyeing it. Instructions were cold delicate wash only. It held up fine in the washing machine to being dyed at 60 degrees. No shrinkage. So I’d be pretty confident about a normal 30-40 degree washing machine cycle.

Thanks Angie and Jenni.
Angie I avoid 100 percent viscose at all costs!
Jenni I would appreciate it when you have the time! If it is the same mix I will go for it.

I have 2 pairs of shorts which are a linen/ viscose blend, will have to look up the proportions. They do crease so I just wear them casually, but I wash them in the machine in cold water on a normal cycle. No delicate cycle or hand washing and they have held up well.

Sounds like a lovely blend but the hand wash would be ideal ( or gentle cycle with drying on a hanger ). I'd like to see that fabric versus anything mixed with polyester - personal preference .

100% viscose also tends to crease terribly and shrink, Star.

On the other hand, viscose is BRILLIANT in a blend. It adds a soft silky smooth drape that feels soooo good on the skin! As far as it blended with linen - I don't have personal experience with the combination. It sounds great for hot weather though!

Hello

Does anyone have experience with items made from 80% viscose and 20% linen? I know that 100% viscose does not hold up well when wet (laundering) and mixing it with other fabric types stabilises it BUT is 20% linen enough?

I spotted a white top made from this mix that draped really nicely but I don't want an item I need to hand wash or gentle cycle.

Thanks!
