You have been so tenacious! Being non-weight bearing is cumbersome over time. Nice to be able to do a bit with the foot on the ground. Funny about the scooter- my kids are grown and I had one for a month post ankle fracture surgery last spring. Without fail, every time I got on it, I discovered I had an inner 7 year old boy who wanted to play. I get why your son doesn't want his Mom cruising around school on one (probably all his friends would find it and you beyond cool, while he would be mortified). Smooth recovery to you! The doc really messed around with my foot on Friday, so by mid afternoon it was so swollen, I had to take the boot off. I kept it elevated and iced a bunch yesterday and was able to put the boot back on today. And I walked! Not being able to walk on it is sooo hard. And the shower is difficult, too. Painful too. And pain is huge motivator, at least for  me  ;) When I was a teenager, I managed to shatter my left foot. Whole thing was turned 45 degrees. I, sadly, have the scars from the rod they had to set in my foot.
