And I like the blouse peeking out from under the sweater. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/70s-cowgirl#post-1126778 Thu, 02 Jan 2014 15:10:38 +0000 MuseumGal 1126778@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I'm mulling a list of style goals for 2014, and one of them is something like "Have more faith in your own style and just have fun with it."&nbsp; Also to post outfits that are just every day outfits, even if they are not wildly stylish.&nbsp; </p> <p>I thrifted this men's navy merino sweater/jumper/pullover just before Christmas - in fact it's what set me on my current path of crime in my husband's closet.&nbsp; The merino is a wee bit itchy, so I decided to try something new to me, which is layering it over a button up long sleeve blouse.&nbsp; I have exactly 2 of those in my wardrobe (they don't play well with the boobs of wrath), and the other one is a summery linen, so this muted floral one came out to play.&nbsp; When I added my trouser jeans and brown bomber cowboy boots, I felt like a 70s cowgirl - which doesn't come across in photo as much as it did in my head.&nbsp; So to keep with the 70s theme, I added the brown suede Nehru jacket.&nbsp; The beads are actually from the 70s or possibly even earlier (gifted by an older friend), and the earrings also have that 70s hippy vibe.&nbsp; I'm pictured with some of my dissertation companions - a mug of coffee, my burial files, and Ortner.</p> <p>I was wonderfully warm and cozy all day, and I really liked the play of textures and colors (muted silky floral, navy wool, rich brown suede).&nbsp; I would have thought this kind of layering would make top-heavy barrell torsoed me look even more disproportionate than usual, but it seems to work OK?&nbsp; Comments and suggestions welcome. </p>
