From my understanding, you can't fully cure depression but merely aim to keep emotions, behavior and thought under control. I’m glad she’s getting intensive help and treatment. </p> <p>One of my stepsons has gone through impatient treatment for bipolar disorder, and it’s a hard road, but was a crucial step towards his long term health. He now manages beautifully thanks to medication, regular appointments with his therapist, and the support of his family, especially his wonderful wife. I also have a niece who has had similar struggles. It’s so widespread. I’m glad that the stigma of taking about mental health is lessening so that people can be open about their struggles. My husband teaches at a high school. It is wonderful that your niece has the love and support of her family. It was great that your daughter was able to help her cousin. Apparently my daughter's need for constant interaction helped her cousin focus on her and be all right at the party. And here I was worried my little one was just being a pest :)</p> <p>She is such a brave and amazing kid. We're all praying this is what she needs to get better. </p>
