Cat2 good for you!
I don’t think I ever got around to setting goals this year. But it’s never too late. And I’m mulling some over.

Good work Cat2. Sounds like you are focussed and on track.

And Jenni - I give you permission to buy some more skechers - that's not needless spending. Not that you need my permission.

My goals were

- tweak my hair (it's underway)
- look for winter texture (Have added a textured sweater, a silky dress and some snakeskin boots)
- maintaining my current sized wardrobe of around 100 (yes)

I was also looking for a blazer (yes) and a puffer (have change my mind and am making do with my existing pieces). I have purchased a bit more gear than I expected and decided my puffer vest (work) and my current two old puffers are more than sufficient.

My colour was red - I have added two red pieces but both are really gear.

Looks like you’re having great success in avoiding the constant pressure to buy and update.
My goal was to buy even fewer pieces than last year’s 14, if possible, and to keep wearing items to get more of the closet at #30 wears or more.Success on both counts. No purchases at all in first 5 months. The one thing I am looking at is Skechers to replace my black slip on ones which are my favourite casual pair. After over 330 wears the sole is wearing and my feet seem to be being pushed to one side. I will try to buy as close to exactly the same as I can.
Some items are gradually wearing out so I will try to edit without replacing if able so the wardrobe size will go down a little. I don’t have much to show the forum these days!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have always loved black, but also bought navy because it was the other readily available business appropriate neutral. If I trim it out I don’t need to worry about it or it’s supporting act. I also look far better in ivory or ecru than white, so trimming out the white will over time make me happier. I have also been adding more warm blush, warm army green and warm grey than I had before, so I won’t end up with just black and cream.

Great to hear that you’re achieving your goals, looks like you have a very disciplined approach that’s serving you well.

I could probably use some of your discipline because my goal of cutting back on my shopping hasn’t been very successful so far. I’ve added at least 5 new items in the last month alone, although some of these are 2nd hand items but they do take up space in my closet. Its likely time for another wardrobe review and to finally donate what I no longer really want to wear anymore.

Like Suz, I'd like to know more about your experiment with white and cognac! Do these colors not make you happy any more? Or did you feel like you had too much in those hues?

I am under budget with only a few clothing dollars left for the year. I tend to do all my spending in the spring, so that is not a problem. I have bought more thrifted items and fewer new items (and fewer items overall), which was my main goal. I want to keep shifting that seesaw as much as possible.

My color goals changed A LOT this year, and I have only bought neutrals as a result (except for one red top and pants).

That's great, cat2. Sounds as if you are really making progress.

Are you weeding out navy in favour of one dark neutral (presumably black)? And what made you experiment with the white and cognac, specifically?

My goals were to cut back on shopping for the first few months of the year, (check -- did not buy anything Jan/ February); to wear the heck out of my clothes (check -- I really enjoyed my fall/ winter closet);

I have kept the door open to chartreuse or lime or brilliant yellow but have not found any items in those colours yet.

I also edited the closet again when I did the seasonal switch and let go of a fe items that however favoured, were showing seirous wear, and certain other items that I just wasn't wearing.

Just took a look back at this year’s goals to see how I am doing.
1. Stay on budget. Check. On track.
2. Wear out navy pieces and don’t replace. Check. I am down to one navy winter pant and two summer. I also added white and cognac to my slow pruning list. Inspired by another poster, I tried no cognac for a month and it was fine.
3. Continue to figure out how to use my work closet. This year I pulled out anything peplum, and anything with a spaced apart print. I ended up wearing out all but one peplum: they were all older pieces that had a lot of wear the last time peplums were a thing. The prints will stay in rotation, along with the tweed and boucle jackets I dug out last year.
So, a good 6 months. My closet shrank enough for me to feel some progress! How are others doing on their goals?
