Yes! I am finding too that dresses seem to last longer during weight loss. If you have the time, thrifting is a great way to go! Congratulations! I hear the body dismorphia will eventually diminish once you stabilize.

With my body shape, I find the precise opposite. My top and bottom halves are not quite the same size, so finding a dress to fit when my weight is stable is a major challenge. With the weight falling, the window of opportunity to wear any given dress is so narrow, it's just not worth it at all. I fake it with skirts. Which I also have too few of.

Woot! Six dresses! That's great. I love the taupe/tan one. I need one like that for summer. I used to be heavier and it took me a long time to get used to wearing such a small number. In fact, I think I wore my clothes too large for a long time before I learned about fit. Thrifting is a great solution for you right now. You can learn what you like and what looks good on your new body for a minimal amount of money. I look forward to following your journey!

Tracey, yes, when I lost weight I had a similar experience. And then I started having a slightly different experience. I would catch a glimpse of myself in a window, for example, and quite literally wouldn't recognize myself! That went on for quite a while.

While I was losing weight I basically lived in my workout gear. It was only after I'd lost pretty much all I wanted to lose that I went shopping. (I worked from home, so that was possible.....just barely...and I DID by a transitional pair of jeans and a few tops about halfway through....)

Then, for the first year, really, I shopped mostly by thrift and consignment as I got used to my new shape and how to dress it, and tried to refine my style goals. I am still learning, two years later.

This week I had the most fun and purchased 6 dresses when I went thrifting. Dresses really are a great option for someone on a weight loss journey and you will probably see me in them a lot. I have to say that day was something else. During this journey, I feel like I have body dysmorphia and don't really see the weight loss correctly..When I tried on size sixes, they all fit, and one was even a 4. It hit me really hard that I am that size... I knew it from body measurements but just don't see it in the mirror or in my photos. Has anyone else ever dealt with this. this is brand new for me?

I am so excited that the temperatures next week all look to be in the 60's and I won't be shivering wearing dresses more often..

I didn't take any photos in the dresses put did post them on my blog if you want to check them out...
