I didn't mind the tone of it, I'll cut him some slack there. He's a young guy preaching to young guys and part of youth is discovering the truth about alot of things and feeling proud of it, especially if it's the "ugly" truth.

I did Weight Watchers for a long time - most of the messages were postive and soft, but occasionally the hard truth would be expressed, and I often learned more from that.

I just tucked into a bag of Kit Kats, and will now take a walk

I agree with him on certain aspects of the content, but SO NEGATIVE!!! All I can say is that I hope this isn't his motivational speak for potential clients...

Here's what he could have written:

5 Fitness secrets you need to know right now

Changing your body can help you become your best self. Exercise improves your mood, raises your energy levels and boosts your confidence.

Fitness is addictive. Knowing this will help you get motivated and build self discipline around a routine that works for you.

Healthy eating habits are an important part of physical fitness.

You don't need to look like an athlete to feel good about the body you have.

You don't have to be rich or able-bodied to get fit, you just need to find ways to make exercise part of your lifestyle.

(just back from a run, tucking into a plate of muesli)

A lot of this resonated with me. I was disappointed to read that the author is trying to sell a fitness programne though. But thanks for the article - I enjoyed reading it. Food for thought.

I enjoyed that. But I think he's kinda right about the Ferrari. I mean, I agree about car enthusiasts caring about cars themselves, but I haven't met many interested in Ferraris... I mean, think about the devotion of people to MGs: a trip in an MG always involves a stop and a hammer, lol. That's dedication to a car.

"5 Ugly Truths About Fitness Nobody Talks About"

Written by a young male for a young male audience, and posted on a site he's using to pitch his fitness program. Contains acronyms I don't recognize. Some statements reflect less life experience than most YLFers have behind them. (Bonus counterpoint: the car people I know really do care about the car itself as engineering, sport, and design; I haven't asked any of them how they feel about their abs.)

And yet! Much of this article is very refreshing:

http://www.fitmole.org/5-ugly-truths/
