I don't think that 3 brights are too much. But that salmony pink doesn't strike me as a bright. It is a very pretty outfit.

I don't care about the face, but the hair color is helpful to me. So the first pic is still great, IMO.

#1. You look fantastic in this simple, sporty, bright outfit. I love it!!

#2. I strongly prefer to see a person's face in the photos as it helps me judge whether the colours work and also the proportions. Chopped at the neck is not how we are. It's all part of the look. (I do understand why people wear sunglasses or blot their faces out for privacy, however, and respect this. )

But it's not necessary to look at the camera every time. Either way will do -- though a smile is very nice now and again!

I think brights look fantastic on you. I much prefer the photo cropped at the chin (photo #1) as I already know what a pretty face you have, and the crop allows my focus to zero in on the outfit for a proper assessment, without being distracted.

I love the vibrant colors in your outfit, AJ, and I don't think it's too much at all. You look great!

I do prefer to see the person's face in their oufit photos. As others have said, it helps to judge how the colors work with the person's coloring, but it's also useful to see the whole picture: the person's age, their hairstyle, etc, in order to see if an outfit works.

It doesn't matter to me whether you actually are looking straight into the camera or not. In fact it's nice to change up you poses a little for interest and variety, although I have to admit to not usually bothering to do that!

I think these bright colors look great together AJ. And I don't mind the first photo at all because it shows me a hint at your hair/coloring but doesn't have me focus on your face. I actually find that I sometimes get a bit distracted by the faces when I'm trying to judge an outfit. But I guess I just prefer not to have too many images of myself out on the net so I'm biased. And clearly many YLF'ers would prefer to see faces.

Brights are not too much at all - you look great. I find it really hard to judge an outfit without a face, and also usually have a hard time forming an opinion of an ensemble if I don't imagine it on an actual person (with a face!).

I like all the brights together AJ - it makes for a happy outfit.

I definitely prefer a face in the picture. I think it gives a much better overall sense of an outfit and that person's "look" if you know what I mean.

That striped top looks great on you.

I strongly prefer to see a face in outfit photos, even if there are sunglasses or the person is looking away or has their face partially obscured by a hat or hair, etc. I understand why some people prefer to blur out or block out their face in online photos, or chop the head off the picture. But faceless and headless images always have bothered me, ever since childhood.

The brights look fabulous, not OTT in the slightest.
I prefer the subject to look at the camera but by golly I know how hard that is!
I understand privacy is an issue but I prefer to see people's face and hair, features that are so defining of personal style.

Not too many brights. I love this on you, you look gorgeous.

Lots of bloggers don't loook directly into the camera, some even wear sunglasses all the time in their shots, it doesn't bother me at all. In fact it can be a little more interesting that a straight portrait shot.

However when presenting and outfit, I think we do need to see the face. For me a great deal of how the outfit works related to how it is against facial mskin tone, features and eyes. Hair is important too. For me it's about the whole package.

You look pulled together, crisp and modern in this. I love the colors and the bold stripes. Three brights that don't compete are not too much at all. Here, they share the attention really well.

I don't think you need to look in the camera in all photos. I like some variety. I prefer to see faces in outfit pics because the colors of our skin, hair and eyes, the hairdo etc, is an integral part of the look.

Wore this to church: rose gold hoops, navy and pink striped top, cobalt skirt, gold watch, and patent orange wedges.

I once read a blog post that stated it was better for the subject to look at the camera than elsewhere. I find it harder to get a good picture when I'm looking at the camera.

Are three brights too much?
Do you care whether the subject looks at the camera or not?
Do we even need to include the face when presenting outfit pics?
