DH and I had the gallery almost to ourselves, so I, especially, didn't just view the photos, but studied them for a long time. Still, I hated to leave. In some of the later pictures she dodges the camera a bit, looking off to the side or down, and it makes me wonder. I can see myself getting very emotional looking at these images in person. It's the passage of time, the sense of a woman's life, the implicit idea of changing relationships .... </p> <p>I do come from a family of sisters which is maybe why I find myself so drawn to this series, I don't know. (I've read about it before.)</p> <p>I'm going to try to grab a sister and head to New York in November to see it.</p> <p>(And Suz, I loved Susan Minot's novel "Monkeys."
