Haven't checked the links yet, but I heard somewhere about a girl doing a 3-d project for her fashion degree. Was it here on YLF? I think there was some interesting cutwork involved...

I think it's really fascinating and some of the designs are inspiring, but I believe it's going to be a while before anything truly wearable is produced this way -- it's got to be hard to produce a textile pliable enough to wear for any kind of real life activity. But I look forward to seeing where it is going!

Well 3D-printing surely offers new possibilities but I doubt it will become a huge hit in few years but maybe somewhere in the future. Many customers, me included, like the idea of a hand-made clothing and 3D-printing is still so new that people have their doubts.

Still, I am a bit excited to see what this turns out to be!

Oooh I've been hearing about this a lot but wasn't sure if it's real or not. Apparently, it's called 3d printed clothing (It's clothing made by a computer). Guess you need something like a fdm printer. I've used it before to create some crappy guitar strings but it was a fun experience. I like the idea because this way you don't have hire a sweat shop or foreign low paying remote workers. It's a win win for all I think and ethical as well.

Does anyone here know anything about 3d printed clothing here? Can these expensive printers be bought on partial payments or something? Is it the next big thing (Or fad - yikes) to hit the fashion world?

I remember a Vancouver SEO specialist helped us get into 3d printing. We then ended up working with him. He even helped me with a dentist who made 3d printed aligners for us. Isn't that crazy? Looks like 3D printing is not just limited to fashion but lots of other things as well. Last I heard, they are now 3d printing full on fashion warehouses and new developments in Vancouver as well. Looking forward to see what 3d printing can make.
