She’s gotten a couple good comments about adding structure. I thought of that peacock color for you while I contemplated my own mermaid holdings this weekend. What a coincidence that you mention it now. Outgrowing things by growing more muscle is just what we ought to be doing! (I hate to add “at our age/life stage”, but maybe I should). Mary Beth (formerly LBD) on "30x30: Week One" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/30x30-week-one#post-1876914 Tue, 09 Jan 2018 16:54:02 +0000 Mary Beth (formerly LBD) 1876914@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ So... several things happened since <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/30-x-3015?replies=18#post-1876886">my previous post:</a> The student film I was shooting was extended from one, twelve-hour day, to several very long days!   It definitely made an impact on my 30x30 for several reasons: 1)  The rooms we shot in were so cold.   Even running the heat intermittently between takes and scene changes, it never got above 60F indoors, and outside, it was 22 ("feels like 16") outside.   Every time I came home, I got into a very hot bathtub. I wound up repeating items and bringing loungewear in, so I could bundle up between takes. 2)  My costume was one of my pairs of leggings and a t-shirt that was in my items count - and it wound up being my WIW for three of the first seven days.   The leggings took some real wear and tear (this was a sci-fi/action short), and I had to baby them into looking decent by the third day.   I've retired the leggings for costume wear. And I'm not putting that shirt back on again until it's 65F or warmer in Atlanta. 3)  It has been so cold overall, that I pulled a sweaterdress and two cashmere sweaters from storage.   I've worn the dress three times, and one of the sweaters once.   I looked at all my short-sleeves, looked at the forecast, and re-assessed my items. I wound up revisiting my original idea, to start small and add as I go.   As of now, I have about 18 items that I have worn, or that I have the goal of working into my outfits this month.   I am going to bring in more items as needed, but now I'm thinking, realistically, I might not even hit 30! My current numbers:    * indicate orphan items that I want to work into my outfits this month Toppers I wear indoors:  3 (black bolero*, black zip cardigan, dark green) Tube Sweater: 1* Sweaters:  2 (white, black) Dress 1:  Navy blue sweaterdress Button-down blouses:  2 (dark peacock blue*, pink) Long-sleeve bodysuits:  1 (white*) Long-sleeve tops:  3  (all black:  v-neck, mockneck, crewneck) Short-sleeve tops: 1 (black crewneck) Jeans:  2 (both dark wash) Leggings:   2 .  This does not include the now-retired pair. Some random thoughts: I need to get more photos of my outfits.    I didn't get any WIWs of the film costume, but hopefully there will be some stills once they get it edited.  I also didn't have time to grab WIW pictures every day.  I'm going to try and remedy that, going forward, but my schedule is really tight. The dark green topper is an open cardigan, that I brought to the set and felt "too approachable" in.   I've never actually worn it anywhere else, I usually keep it for loungewear at home.    But because I'm wearing it on the days I work at home, I feel it should be counted, and I'm going to see if I can pair it with a leather skirt and lose some of the kindergarten teacher-y feeling. The dark peacock button-down is an experiment - it's stretch, but it's a bit tight in the shoulders.  (I did a lot of planks and pushups the second half of 2018, and my shoulders and upper arms got bigger).   I'm wearing it under my zip cardi tomorrow for class, and will have to decide whether to keep or give to a friend. I realized, in my previous post, when I said "too approachable", or "not approachable enough", there are style-tweaks I want to make, largely involving how many layers the outfit has, hair/makeup, and the type of shoes.   "Not approachable enough" = I want to add a little more softness to the outfit.    "Too approachable" = could have used a little more business/crispness. #1  Sweaterdress.   This was like seven-layer dip.   I had my entire film costume on underneath (tights, leggings, short-sleeve tee, AND a silk thermal shirt.   Plus undergarments, socks, and OTK boots). #2-3   Pink button-down blouse.   This blouse was a wardrobe orphan.   I want to work it into more outfits.   The outfit itself was another seven-layer outfit:  I had on a silk thermal, the blouse, the zip cardigan, a moto jacket, tights, socks, jeans, and boots. If I could fit an elecctric blanket underneath, I would have. #4   This is my white sweater, I wore at home with leggings. #5   This is the experimental dark peacock blue blouse that I'm going to try out tomorrow.
