Really elegant. Love the last 2 in particular. I have a couple of skirts with small slits at the front side and I get a bit self conscious about them too (especially when posting pics here) but they are actually not that noticeable in normal (ie not posing for a photo) wear. As long as there is no problem gape when sitting, you are good to go. Love your cats.

I really like 6. It's a very interesting outfit considering your items were so limited. The dresses look great, too.

Your cat is adorable, and I am not a cat person (ah choo!).

lozz_oz, La Pedestrienne, Dianna, Joy, quietgirl, Thank you! (And yes, my fuzzball does steal the show!)

Emily K, I agree that this was a better scarf to turn into a belt than the red one. I have a few other flatter/sleeker scarves that may get paired with this dress, at least until cooler weather (finally) hits.

rachylou, Good question! I found I wanted the white tee for the 4th of July so I could pull together some red, white, and blue, and casual white options were otherwise lacking. I ended up not needing blazers for any of the workdays in this month (though I could have used them as shields against office AC), and you're right that the black blazer may have been too strong a statement this time around. I really need to figure out how to wear it. The black pants got brought in when I realized that I just don't like the charcoal pants I included in this round (fit issues). I think I'm a little tired of the paisley shirt, but undecided on whether it just needs a break or if it's time to move it along. I didn't have a reason for not wearing the black & white stripe shirt... maybe it felt a little stiff for the heat, or 30 items may have just felt like a surprisingly large wealth of clothes for the month. :)

Sterling, we made it! I just spent a few minutes shifting the contents of my closet around so I can more easily get to non-30x30 items. I definitely agree that it's a great exercise to do at least occasionally... I'm afraid I may be a little overwhelmed by choices for a while now! And now it's time to ponder over those lessons we learned and figure out how to turn those into better choices ahead...

You took the words right out of my mouth, I am really looking forward to wearing my full wardrobe again. Everything is new and exciting to me. Having said that, I very well might do a 30 x 30 challenge again in the near future. I like Joy's idea of doing one at the start of a season to identify holes.

The fact that we had unworn items in our challenge interests me. I kept wondering how it was that I had unworn items. What was it about them that made me choose not to wear them (and I did make the decision each day to wear something else). There is a lesson here, I just don't know what it is yet. Perhaps Rachy Lou's questions can help us parse out the answer.

Your tee shirt and black pants substitutions were well chosen. I'll watch for lab posts for the black blazer.

My favorites were numbers 2 and 4. The soft blue is definitely gorgeous on you. It feels like you would be a relatable person in real life. The sleekness of the dress in number 3 makes you look professional and very capable. Number 4 is just something I would wear so I see comfort and ease. The dress in number 5 looks great. Like Emily, I like it with the belt as well.

AND you did go out with a BANG!!!! BAM!!!!

Your sweet kitty steals the show. You went out with a bang! It is hard to pick favorite outfits but I think it would be photos 2 and 3. The soft blue top in 2 is lovely on you and the dress in 3 is the perfect LBD. I like the contrast if the narrow white belt. Not everyone can pull that off but you can.

I think it very interesting that you had unworn items and items you retrieved. What was the deciding difference? Did you need more neutrals and fewer statements?

Cute cat!!! Another fine week, sartorially. You wear clothes so beautifully. Both dresses are fantastic. I prefer the more streamlined belt/scarf you chose this week as it is not so heavy in relation to the dress. I imagine that it will be nice to get into fall and wear the dress with tights so you can dispense with the scarf situation.

Technically, we still have the weekend, Monday, and Tuesday left to go. But weekends are usually full of gear-wearing, and I may still pull from my capsule on Monday/Tuesday, but it probably won't be anything you haven't seen before in various remixes... so we'll call this a wrap. I'm excited to have free reign in my closet again, though I may just build a new capsule and start over. I like having fewer things to pick from in the mornings. Thanks to Sterling for organizing the festivities; it was a lot of fun! We should do this again sometime.

I brought in two items that weren't in my original 30x30: a white tee and a pair of black ankle dress slacks. But I also had five items that went unworn: black & white striped shirt, paisley top, grey Chucks (they did get worn on the weekends when I was wearing gear, so maybe that still counts), and black and gray blazers. I really need to play with that black blazer, which I've yet to wear... it's a bit of a statement shape and still feels too cool for me, so I need to do a lab and see when it works and doesn't. One black tee developed holes (or maybe I just finally noticed them) and got downgraded to the schlubby clothes category, and my gray ankle slacks are getting donated or eBay'd. This challenge definitely made it easier to pull the trigger on items that just aren't working, and that's hugely valuable. Just need to apply that philosophy to the rest of my closet now.

I found that my closet feels less happy for truly hot summer days. There are a few holes I can fill, but I think that I'll just always prefer dressing for cooler weather. I appreciated my olive ankle-cropped dress slacks (long enough that I don't freeze in office AC, but they feel much better in the outside heat than full-length), so I'm attempting to find another pair or two in other colors. I really enjoy wearing dresses to work, which I never would have predicted a few years ago. And I think one more pair of dressy-ish flats or very low heels, maybe in a gray or subtle silver, would round out my warm weather shoe collection.

1: My other furball. The tortie follows me around like a little shadow, so she gets more pictures, but this is her half-brother.

2: Monday: Nude block heels, black ankle slacks, light blue top, black jacket.

3: Tuesday: My favorite dress, with a belt again. Different shoes this time so it's not a total repeat (and it was nice to be able to zoom around comfortably in flats).

4: Wednesday: Low/mid snake heels, olive slacks, blue striped shirt. I felt meh in this shirt the last time I wore it, but I think it was the pants' fault. It felt better this week when paired with my current favorite work pants.

5: Thursday: A two dress week?? I think that may be a first. I still feel a little self-conscious about the slit in this dress (it's hidden by the scarf); it goes up to about fingertip length. It'll be completely fine with tights when it gets cooler, and I think it's less obvious than my brain tells me it is.

6: Friday: Gladiators, jeans, white shirt, vest, and a necklace made by a friend.
