I have found that when I properly analyse the ratios of my casual vs dressy days I end up with a much more practical wardrobe. I’ve been thinking a lot about this ratio aspect of outfits on the continuum and what the drivers in my life or external that might be impacting this. </p> <p>I think there’s two major pieces to these changes for me:<br /> - I used to equate casual with shapeless and didn’t wear it because it was not flattering. I didn’t wear jeans either because I didn’t like the feel. Materials have really changed. I can now find casual wear that are flattering and body skimming and not boxy. And my favorite jeans have stretch. So this category is more appealing to me now than at other times in my life. In the past, I was just more dressy (business casual) on occasions others would wear more casual clothes.</p> <p>- season and weight loss transitions have left me more in the middle to casual side of the continuum. January has been cold, with limited meetings and two fed holidays, so my more corporate outfits haven’t been needed. They are also more limited in my wardrobe right now. I have a lot of work travel this year, which will likely change up these ratios soon.</p> <p>This is a topic that I will definitely need to consider in the next transition size and as I get to my goal weight.
