Yes I agree Firecracker. I like both my furry coat and my kingfisher coat with this dress, and a long cardigan would be good (but I don't own one right now). I also have a brown tweed coat that might work with it....

Yes who knows with Kibbe - but it feels quite right actually, more so than any of the colour categories ever have (I am some sort of spring but feel okay in black, some autumn colours and many of the blues and greens of summer). With colours now I just try and avoid the ones I do not feel right in at all (optic white, acidic yellows, reds that are too blue, beige, muddied and muted shades). Everything else can be made to work in one way or another.

Oooh, you are looking fabulous, Sal! I like all of these on you. I would say I agree that the blazer with the dress is my least favorite here; I think I'd like a softer topper with the dress. Maybe a cropped jean jacket or even a long cardigan. But the others are such fantastic casual chic looks, especially 4.

And I can't offer any wisdom on the Kibbe assessment. ;)

Thanks Smittie. The jacket has puffy sleeves - and being black is hard to photograph. I adore it but not with the dress I went the same way as you with Kibbe - the test was hard but in the end it did help me a little. But if I am honest, if I preferred a more classic style I could do this. I would straighten my hair or choose a different cut, up my polish etc. I think I could carry it off but I also would not quite feel like me. Yes sportiness is not quite addressed in Kibbe (I suspect due to the age of the system).

The Cat - thanks, I have only seen two Ingrid Bergman films but she is a wonderful actress and I was flattered to be compared to her.

Tulle - thank you. I think it is working with your frame/shape but not TOO strictly that made it appealing.

Kelly - yay another FN!! I can see that about us actually even though we have different colouring and shape we do have a love for casual wear, loose hair, and some colour. And for party dresses I might try the dress with pants - I have one pair that might work once the 30x30 challenge is over.

Rachy LOL...I am not gamine (175cm and US size 8-10) but cropped pants, flat shoes can swing that way. I love gamine styles so I am pleased to hear that.

Cheers Srah - thanks for the comments. I am feeling better - one day in bed, one day at work feeling miserable, then a slow improvement. There are pluses and minuses of being in business - having to invoice when you are feeling ill is definitely a minus:)

Emily - thanks, The sweater is actually a dark navy. I think the Kibbe just maybe helps me think about what I am trying to achieve - and sometimes what NOT to do. For example I struggle when my hair is too crisp or flat, and I struggle with too much shine on my clothes. I think the Flamboyant Natural is about a casualness but with a bit of drama, which are the outfits I like the best on myself.

Jenni - yes the names are great although I do not have a flamboyant personality..

Skylurker, thank you for your kind words. I think the jacket does need a more structured bottom, and the colour was not right either. It was not an awful look but I should have just repeated the dress with camel boots and a wool coat which is how it looks best.

Brooklyn - thank you. The puffer gets a lot of wear. I agree the wine colour dress needs more dark on the bottom to make the look balanced. But I actually think it is best with lighter footwear - either camel or cognac. It would work with chocolate brown nicely but I currently do not own any. WRT remixing - I like doing it, but on this occasion I felt like I forced it for the sake of the challenge. And for Kibbe I agree with your diagnosis of my style, and from the limited reading I did it seemed to fit the FN category. I will only use it loosely but I do like sometimes to know what to stay away from:)

Thanks Stylefan...I suspect you are a Natural as well of one sort or another:)

Sterling - thanks. I think it is more thinking about how I want to look. I have a lot of flexibility within my work and climate as to how I dress. My life is casual and I am drawn to be slightly dressier than my norm. How do I indulge my love of style with my lifestyle and my budget... When reading about the FN last week it became clearer that this is the way to do it... Texture, some movement, long lines, loose hair, and some flamboyant or bold touches...

Staysfit - thank you. Rather than doing the quiz I read through the descriptions of all the categories, and considered feedback I had been given from forum members. Initially I thought I might be in the classic area but I am not neat enough, symmetrical enough. Suz and one or two others mentioned Natural. I was clear that I am not a Soft Natural - my nose is large, my jaw is strong, and I don't feel good in gentle soft colours or styles. I might be a Natural but I love that bit of drama in my looks and I have the wide face but slighty sharp features, I am relatively broad framed with a mix of muscle and curve, and my hair has movement and kink. I won't stick to it exactly but when I think about how I feel best it is that description I wrote to Sterling - texture, movement, long lines, loose hair, bold touches...

Suz - thank you my Flamboyant sister:) I think you pointed me in the right direction a year back when you said I was a natural like Ingrid Bergman (I was flattered of course).

I will post this and reply to the second half in a minute before I lose the lot!!

Sal, I like the purple outfit best. I really like the proportions.
I really like your dress too, and your silver shoes.
I'm questioning the black jacket, I'm sorry! It seems to be hanging off your shoulders.

I think Kibbe is fun, but has not been useful to me.
It is best to figure out what you like to wear first, based on your taste and body type/modifiers, and THEN have fun trying to figure out which celebs you look like :-)

You look very much like Isabella Rosselini's mother - I forget her name. She was a straight kibbe natural, but that seems a bit too subdued for you. Add in a bit of glam and flamboyance, you have your style! So yes, flamboyant natural suits you.
There is a sporty element to your style (and lifestyle) that is not well-defined by flamboyant natural.

Sal, I'm so sorry you were feeling unwell. But your self diagnosis as Flamboyant Natural seems right on the money to me! Especially if it will help you dress.

(Also, waving to my sister in "flamboyance." I find the word silly but if I think of it more as "drama" it makes sense for me.)

My favourite outfits are 1 and 4 but you look great in the rugby get-up also!

Staysfit, I don't think you fit "natural" at all -- some version of dramatic. Kibbe has "soft dramatic" involving more rounded shapes, I think, but perhaps there are other ways of identifying "soft" as well in his system...soft dramatic *sounds* similar to your look....

First, I need to say that all of your outfits look nice. I have two favorites, the first is when you pair the silver shoes and striped scarf, and the second is when you are wearing the purple coat and similarly colored dress. I am so bad at Kibbe categories. I haven't decided if they are useful? Flamboyant Natural sounds good to me.

When I did the quiz, I come out as strongly Yang Dramatic, but people here on the forum questioned that and wondered if I might be a natural. I wondered if I was answering the questions homstly, so I had a friend answer them about me, but she came up with the same responses. I am left confused and maybe Dramatic Natural is a good category for me as well. I'm curious how you arrived at your conclusion?

Glad you are feeling better. Kibbe confuses and confounds me, I'll have to defer to other Forum Members. I'm curious too. How do you intend to use or implement this knowledge?

My favorites of your week are numbers 1 and 2. Silver shoes elevate the style quotient (they also pick up the grey in the scarf very nicely) and the dress is a lovely color on you.

I like the first and last outfits the best. But the rugby outfit is cool! Good colour for you and very cheerful for winter.
Unlike you, I would probably force the remix. Remixes keep things interesting for me and help me to avoid buying more stuff. I think the black jacket looks a little heavy with the dress but it might work if you added more black or dark colours to the outfit. I would try it with your fishnets. Then add the scarf in outfit 1 or another scarf with both light and dark colours.
I am no kibbe expert but I would pick you as natural and sporty in style with bold and bombshell elements.
Hope you are feeling better

I don't know a thing about Kibbe.
Love #4 : the faux fur cocoon, the simplicity of black and white, the shine of the shoes, the length of the trousers.
Love #6 : great v-neck sweater.
The proportions of dress/jacket looks good, but maybe the black jacket is too heavy for the floaty dress.

Do you think we type ourselves just to get those interesting sounding names ?

There's that coral sweater again! I like that piece. And I especially like the last outfit you've shown, with the black sweater.

I'm sorry you felt so rotten to start the week! And I hope you hold up through all the rugby and winter weather that's going to be coming at you.

I'd have to go back and read Kibbe again, thoroughly, but Flamboyant Natural sounds like a very good place to start! How do you think you will use/implement this knowledge?

Well this week became a bit messier for a few reasons. But I am still on track:)

Monday- sick in bed, no pics.
Tuesday- working, wore FFBO which was perfect. Worked from office then went to see school production and then collapsed.
Wednesday- remixed dress and jacket. I did not like this look and will not repeat it. Trying too hard to remix rather then repeat.
Thursday - work from home then to a local brew bar for work drinks. Casual and comfy but added in orange clutch and white leather sneakers.
Friday- work at office then social function and casual dinner out.
Saturday - morning at rugby. Keeping it real:) Evening at friends watching rugby on TV. In total rush after afternoon in garden and left with wet hair.
Sunday- no pic but more rugby.

I don't plan to photograph most of my looks this week as I will be in rainboots and raincoats. But I hope to stay in the capsule with basically skinny jeans and leggings. I have 30 pieces now so I will be remixing and some repeating.

Lessons:
1)Do not force the remix.
2) I looked at Kibbe a while back and struggled to type myself. But now with a clearer sense of my style I believe I am a Flamboyant Natural. It seems obvious now- do you agree? You do not have to....

Thanks for commenting- off to catch up on others posts now.
