Lisa, it sounds like your uniform is the same as mine! I'm sad that it's finally getting warm enough that I may (may!) have to forego boots for a few months. Of course, the office is chilly enough that --as long as I don't melt between my car and office-- I may be able to get away with it for a while longer...

I've worn olive and black but haven't tried olive and navy yet, a great idea! I like all these looks but the soft colors of #3 caught my eye, it's lovely on you. I also like #6 but I am biased on that one because I am a jeans and boots and jacket/blazer gal.

As expected, I'm spending the whole weekend in dance gear and loungewear, so my 30 items got a respite (and I had a chance to do laundry).

Dianna, Style Fan, Laura G, shevia, thank you!

Joy, I'm (finally) learning that simple pieces with unusual details (like that draped top) are my favorites. It does take a little more hunting or luck to find those things, though! I've had some luck with Elizabeth & Clarke's subscription shirt service for subtly interesting tops (that's where I got both the navy and light blue tops from this week); some of their pieces are flops for me, but they hit it out of the park often enough that I'm willing to stick with them for now.

Brooklyn, I remembered to grab that bracelet when I set up to take a picture and realized my arms were all bare again. I did have to switch wrists mid-morning, though... stiff bracelets on my right wrist clang against the desk too much when I'm using a mouse. Lesson learned. The scarf was a gift from my mom, who has fabulous artistic taste; I don't think it's a Missoni, but it does look like it could be, doesn't it?

skylurker, good eye! That skull is my most patient model when I'm playing with photographic lighting setups.

smittie, I'll keep patching that jacket as long as I possibly can. It was a hasty emergency Walmart purchase in Hawaii after all my luggage was stolen in a break-in, and Walmart and Old Navy were the only affordable clothing shops in reach. I'm not terribly sentimental about clothes, but I'm fond of this piece for the story and memories and will be sorry to see it go someday.

The last jacket outfit is fab too. I can see why you are hanging onto it. Is that a missoni scarf? It adds some nice pattern (in the subtle way that you prefer).

Emily K: Nah, the drapey part doesn't feel like anything at all, and it mostly behaves itself, though it does require occasional rearranging when it does get out of sorts (there's a flippy corner at the top that looks better folded in toward the body, but occasionally flops out). It makes me feel like I'm wearing a superhero cape or something out of ancient Greece or Rome, so that's worth the occasional moment of fussing. ;)

Sterling, being able to wear things on repeat is a great superpower! If I'm not working within the constraints of a challenge, I repeat all the time... ironically, I think I use *more* of my wardrobe during a challenge when I'm limited to just part of it. I'm more thoughtful about what I wear, and consequently feel more put-together (and I do enjoy stretching my creativity, so I'll take that super power!).

Runcarla, I love the idea of streamlined and spare! I love seeing patterns and more maximal details on other people, but it's never what I gravitate to for myself. And I definitely needed those 3rd elements this week... my office is frigid in summer! (I keep a sweater/poncho/wrap-type-thing at my desk, so whenever I was at my computer and didn't have a 3rd piece on, I was huddled up in that.)

I agree with Emily. You look SO elegant in every picture!!

The fact that you are doing a 30 x 30 and trying not to repeat outfits during that time stuns me. That was never even a consideration for me. I knew I would have to repeat and repeat often! I thought that was my super power. Perhaps your super power is imagination and creativity.

Number 3 took my breath away. The color with your hair is gorgeous. In number 4, you are a woman that screams authority. When you enter the room, people sit up straighter.

You look SO elegant in every picture! Does not the asymmetrical drape of the top--especially to attachment point in the back--feel kinda funky or take attention during the day? I like the look, but I suspect I'd be fussing with it, or sitting on it wrong, or something like that. Then again, I'm kinda a messy Marvin

Week 1 of my 30x30.. there are some outfits I've repeated recently, since a lot of items from my spring capsule got carried over. I still like them, but I may be ready to rotate some things out after this month. I had originally intended to do a Project 333 each season and have four rotations, but now I'm thinking I may prefer a series of 30x30s for as long as this exercise continues to be fun and useful... more opportunities to swap things out for whim and weather.

1-2: Monday. I think it's funny (and awesome) that Sterling and I both had an olive-and-navy outfit this week. The second picture shows the asymmetrical drape detail on the top (which is often lost in the front view in not-so-bright morning light when I take my outfit pictures); please forgive the dust and cat hairs on my mirror!

3: Tuesday. I wore this exact outfit in my Project 333, but I like it, so I was happy to repeat it (I'm trying not to repeat outfits within a challenge timespan... but I reset my mental counter when we started the 30x30!).

4. Wednesday. First time I've ever worn this dress with a belt, and I liked it.

5. Thursday. These are the charcoal ankle pants I wasn't happy with before. They were a bit baggy, so I threw them in the dryer and they're a bit better now, but I'm still a little unsure about the fit in the rear/thighs. I'll give them another couple of wears (and another time or two in the dryer) and see.

6. Friday! I've had this jacket for 11 years, and wore right through the elbows; they've been patched a couple of times.
