I have about 45 minutes to drink tea and take DayQuil and then have to change outfits and go back and play for the wedding. (Church musicians do not have relaxing weekends!) JOY--what a nice thing to say! :) JUSSIE, SARAHD8, and CELIA--I really don't know what gave me the idea to try my white infinity scarf with my the white tee shirt. I think I was trying to stay with a fairly narrow color palette. Glad you like it; I'm definitely going to wear the shirt and scarf together again! KATERINA--I wanted to showcase my new earrings in #1, and the outfit felt good to me. When I looked at the photo, I thought it probably needs at least a necklace. Your comment makes me think it was fine, after all. BROOKLYN--I don't like a lot of garnet settings; I find them too masculine. But I like the earrings a lot! TANSTAAFL--good suggestion to wear the grey boots with the skirt outfit; I'm definitely going to give that a try. TORONTOGIRL and BONNIE--thank you for your kind words! OCEANDREAMS27--thank you, and I love your username! ANGIE--I was SO happy in the red cardigan. Uniqlo calls the color "Bordeaux", which makes it even better. :). I'm intentionally putting together a capsule with that color this year. I really haven't worn much white, and am enjoying how it brightens winter outfits. I got the garnet earrings, my birthstone, for my birthday. Then the burgundy cardigan arrived in the mail, and I thought it would work well with my new earrings, so I wore it even though it's not technically in this capsule. The outfit could have used a necklace or scarf, but I didn't want to compete with the earrings. Happiness factor with the burgundy cardi and earrings was high. 3. This is indirectly inspired by Angie's white jeans ensemble, which opened my eyes to how white brightens winter outfits. I recently bought this white tee shirt. I've had the white infinity scarf a couple years and never liked how it looked with my dark shirts. I tried it with my new white tee and voila! I am sure white is going to have much more of a role in my winter outfits going forward. 4. Work today included a choir rehearsal and a wedding rehearsal, so I wanted to look a bit dressier. The NAS Hinge scarf made another appearance, this time over a burgundy sweater. Skirt is my much-loved lace pencil skirt from Classiques Entier. It's the only item in my closet I wear year round. Fleece-lined tights provided adequate warmth. The outfit received compliments, including from the bride-to-be!
