Wow, GREAT sum-up, Windchime. I love reading about what others have learned from the challenge.

I will join you in looking for more white/ivory to lift my winter outfits. That was such a great insight.

And also the pursuit of silver. I am also finding myself drawn to metallics. I willlook out to see how your silver complement develops.

I am sorry to hear about the flu and hope you are feeling 100% soon!

So sorry you have the demon virus. DD and DH have had it forever! I got a touch of it and it was exhausting.

These challenges seem to really focus attention. You accessories point particularly resonates with me.

I am so sorry the flu found you. Take as much time as you need to recover. I hope you feel better very soon! You have learned a lot from your challenge and identified some new goals for yourself. Yay for planning to include some new accessories! I look forward to seeing more of your styling.

I forgot one more take away from this challenge: embracing my hair color! RUNCARLA suggested creating a capsule of silver accessories. I already wear a lot of silver jewelry and hope to find a silver bag and shoes. And to add more grey in a shade compatible with my hair.

Thanks, everyone! I came down with flu about ten days ago, and it's taking a l-o-n-g time to get all my energy back.

STERLING--yes, I thought I did pretty well with accessories, too, but some Fabbers set the bar really high with their gorgeous jewelry. Should be a fun thing for us to shop for this year. :)

LA PEDESTRIENNE--yikes, fluctuating indoor temps make the layering shirt project even more challenging! Sometimes I've picked up long-sleeved tee shirts from Target--the quality isn't wonderful, but they do the job and are available in a wide variety of prints and solids.

Oh, I know EXACTLY what you mean about winter layering tops. I am sorely lacking, especially in solid colours. It's tricky because they really need to be able to stand alone for certain parts of the day (overheated classrooms, etc) but also quiet enough to play nicely with lots of different toppers and accessories. Such a hard category to shop for.

GREAT summation!!!! I am thrilled with how much we all learned about ourselves. Personally, I can do a challenge like this for about 28 days. After that amount of time, I start to feel like I am going crazy. I could NEVER wear such a tiny capsule for longer than that.

I too am inspired by the power of accessories. I really had no idea until I started seeing all the Fabbers wear their jewelry to enhance the look. This has me really thinking a lot about how I want to build more accessory complements.

Layering shirts. I obviously live in a warmer climate.

Good luck finding your white jeans.

Windchime- I hope you are feeling better now. I enjoyed your critique of your 30 x 30 experience. It does really clarify favored pieces and wardrobe holes doesn't it.

I am another one who has realized the importance of accessories. Unfortunately, I am accessory challenged. I will look forward to seeing how you incorporate more scarves and necklaces.

It’s surprising how many basic layering pieces are needed to cover all the bases isn’t it? A good basics foundation is so helpful....

Windchime, I hope that you are feeling yourself again. You seem to have made some valuable discoveries for moving forward. Isn't it interesting how we gravitate toward dark colors in deep winter and how white works do well to brighten an outfit? White jeans can be magic.

First, thanks to STERLING for proposing this challenge and for being so responsive to and supportive of all the participants!

The Challenge came at a perfect time for me, just as I was wanting to put more thought and effort into my outfits. Unfortunately, I got sick the last week of the month and stopped creating and posting outfits.

I ended up with 30 items in the capsule, although I did a few tweaks along the way. I also "cheated" a couple times and wore new purchases which weren't in the capsule. However, one takeaway was that, for me, 30 items was plenty for 30 days. And I repeated items a lot between work and casual wear. But I didn't get bored with the capsule. I knew that I was going to change some of the capsule at the end of the month--if I were going to wear just these 30 pieces for three or four months, I'm sure I'd be less content.

I could have used a few more layering shirts and will address that wardrobe hole.

I also realized--in large part because of your comments--how important scarves and necklaces are to my outfits. I'm inspired by some other Fabbers' amazing use of jewelry and want to step up my own use of necklaces.

Finally, thanks to Angie's post about white jeans, I'll definitely be looking for ways to add white to brighten fall and winter outfits.
