Slim cat, I have bought shoes from the store near Valley Fair. It's been a while. I like to go to the outlet store in Gilroy. They've been good about me trying shoes and returning them when they don't work. I've done well with a sandal as well, but they aren't fashionable, just comfortable. I'll try them again.

I didn't imagine that the rust in the sweater would blend with the scarf, much less the shoes--but surprise for me. I haven't worn the scarf much, but today it just tied everything together. Just experimenting and it worked.

Rachy I will do a long walk soon with the SAS. Thought about it today but it rained again. I know we need the rain. Still hoping for the March Miracle, even if it means no walks.

I've done very well with Mephisto sneakers as well, but the last pair I bought are a bit too small. Same size as ever. I now have a shoe stretcher and that helped. I should have returned them but I like them and wanted to make them work.

Walking is important to me. Since I've become a regular hill walker it my knees have improved (arthritis again) and those thigh muscles!

Fun print and color mixing - love the scarf ( perfectly ties all pieces together )!
The struggle with finding the most comfortable shows is very real. I'm going to find out more about Orthofeet - not familiar brand for me. And I'm seeing podiatrist next week - yay!
I have been to SAS shows store at 3953 Stevens Creek Blvd, Santa Clara CA 95051. It's a little farther away from Valley Fair Mall. The SA was very helpful ( I shopped there for my mom 2 years ago ).

Joy, for years I wore the SAS in a 10 1/2 narrow. My new shoes are 11 Medium and give me plenty of room. I had the laces too loose at first, but tightened them and so far so good.

Also, because of the arthritis, I usually skip the top lacing--end just below it. If all goes well, I can usually leave the shoes tied and just slip them on. This may not work as well with the Free Times.

Angie, I did get an M instead of an N and it is working better. Once I can go in person to the SAS store--if I find one still open--I will try on different sizes.

In the old days, the only Free Times I bought were in the black nubuck, which looked better than the utilitarian colors. Now there are so many more color choices! Looks like the outlet store in Gilroy is still open. I want to go there for sandals as well. There is also a store about a block from Valley Fair Mall, which I haven't been to for over a year. The Mall or the shoe store.

I like the pink! Great complement with the scarf.

I have the SAS Free Times in a narrow size. VERY comfy! Maybe try them in a wide size?

I like all three and think the color of the first pair might be the easiest to wear. I am concerned that the second pair may feel too tight on top if worn very long. The pink look the most comfortable. Which feel best right out of the box? I would not want to fiddle with the shoe laces of 4 or 6.

Can't believe it--hit wrong key and lost my first version!

Okay, I recently bought 3 new pairs of walking shoes to replace the New Balance that used to be great, but no longer work. I will go back and try them in different sizes when I feel comfortable in going to a shoes store.

My feet have changed, as in gotten worse. Flatter, wider through toes, and far more tender. I checked out barkingdogshoes.com and decided on three pairs. ## 1 & 3 are woven fabric, which doesn't work for stomping around in the garden, and the SAS are leather.

The Orthofeet seem bigger, but when measured are almost the same as NB. They have more room for the toes and the toe bed is higher. They come with 2 extra inner soles and an additional arch support. Right now I'm using the thicker insert and the arch support. I walked about a mile up and down hills the other day and they seem to work.

I used to wear SAS Free Time a lot and they were great. Last time was Paris '15 and I'm not sure why I stopped buying them. These look better for a slightly dressier look and seem comfortable, but no long walks yet.

I've had Vionic slides, etc. so decided to try a pair of shoes. They felt weird at first, but I'm getting used to them. I have arthritis on top of my left arch, so I can't have shoes that are too tight across there, but so far they are okay. Not for getting caught in the rain, which is what happened today. More testing needed.

Ran some errands wearing Paige tee under Treasure & Bond cotton sweater, Joe's Jeans that are a bit too tight, and I'm about done with skinny jeans, but I have a lot thanks to Nordstrom Rack. I added a gift scarf. All this from 2-3 years ago. Then put on a denim jacket.

With my hair longer it slides down under my collar or top and I find a scarf prevents that. Haircut coming soon. Not sure when or where or how much.

So here we are. I am going to do a post on my new hair products--never heard of Function of Beauty until I got a gift certificate as a wedding present and tried it. I really like this brand.

Orthofeet Sandy stretch knit silver:

SAS Free Time denim

Vionic Alaina Active sneaker

https://www.vionicshoes.com/al.....tml?76=671

Later I'll try all 3 on for glamour photos to see how you like them.
