I guess I'm not surprised that hardcore enthusiasts do this for the things they really love.&nbsp;I wonder if one of their reasons is to prolong that sense of anticipation and enjoy it with other people who share your excitement. And Zeedijk is a nice street full of trendy shops, cafes and nightlife, so I can imagine it's not so bad to hang out there for a few days. Those guys looked like they were having a blast.</p> <p>I looked forward to the&nbsp;Margiela@H&amp;M&nbsp;collection&nbsp;for weeks. The queue was a lot of fun, it was full of people who were also really excited.&nbsp;It was an event,&nbsp;there was a sense of occasion about the whole thing. It's that "collecting" instinct, the same impulse that has men hanging around railway lines writing down train numbers. There was absolutely no reason to camp out for that, I was in with the second shift. They were clearly having a good time. </p> <p>If you thought I was extreme for going to London for a pair of George Cox creepers (which I still haven't managed) you have no idea of the lengths some people will go to get their feet into the right pair of shoes. </p> <p>I think they are committed. Mr Edge says they should be. </p>
