san I'm glad that you liked it !

anne yes, they do, but it's a bit haphazard and not well thought out. What is the meaning of "hips equal tits" ? From the front view they may be equal, but not if you measure with a tape measure. Or the opposite may be the case: the measurement may be the same, but from the front the hips might look much narrower than the chest area, since most of the bulk is in the butt.

While I agree with your point about measurements and the need to look at both views I think you (or perhaps the person you are quoting from) have quite missed the fact that Trinny and Susannah's body shape bible does take the side view into account.
The book gives pictures of the side view for each body type and even if you just look at the summary on their website
http://www.trinnyandsusannah.c.....ape-survey
you will see that they have included details of bust and bum details on many of their descriptions. They also say that many people don't quite fit exactly into one type and that you need to find the one that you most closely approximate - and there may be a couple. They also wrote that book after writing extensively on specific figure issues, eg big bum, small breasts, short waist etc so it you take their work as a whole you'd be pretty well covered.

I know a lot less about the letter figure types, but I just had a look at myshape.com and at least some of their letter body types include details of a side profile.

Without looking at your website (I'm at work), I kind of agree. My waist is pretty thick so from the front I do not look all that curvy. From the side, it's a VERY different story. Luckily Angie is pretty good at figuring it out and had me pegged as an hourglass from the start, but I did have pictures posted from the front and side.

Your website is beautiful. I fell right into it.
You have a great point here on where the measurements are coming from. Every person is built different even if the measurements are the same. There are many size 34's and a zillion body differences. This is one reason it is so helpful for people wanting body or style advice to post a picture. I haven't read many other's style books but it looks like Angie has it right in recognizing that each type has variations, like an hourglass leaning towards a pear for instance.

I would love to know your opinion on this:

Body type classifications are flawed because they take into account only the front view of the body. I elaborated upon that here:

http://www.xanga.com/eternalvo.....ent-wrong/

I am not a figure type expert, so I'd love to see what you have to say about it !
