And I loved what you said in the blog and here about embodiment. I can see it. I appreciate how you thoughtfully evolve with the times and your changing needs. There seems to be a through-line over the years (something I notice in my own evolution), but a refinement that continues to solidify as we enter a phase of life that usually means less compromising what we really love, less settling, and more practicality and ease. I have thought about the Alison Bornstein three-words approach (one is practical, one is aspirational, and one is emotional), and I have a decent idea, but I have never fully committed to my words or terms. I posted a bit of a ramble on Carla’s Wardrobe Reflections 2025 about using her “ older and bolder” not as different, bolder garments per se but as embracing my own style and not second- guessing so much. Both for what I put on and keep wearing and for deciding to toss something out. I am going to ponder some words that are embodiment- adjacent and perhaps relate to confidence, peace, satisfaction, with a good dollop of fun and energy. If I wanted to add poetic, I might choose contrasting or bold glasses frames and an interesting structured bag like my Loewe puzzle bag, or my new this year Songmont east west bag. <div> </div><div>Angie, thanks!  I still have silvery wavy/curly hair.  I am wearing it a bit longer now.  My hope is by summer it will be long enough for me to pull into a French braid (braids are an ethereal element) and or a pony tail (sporty) because it gets unruly when I am running and doing agility with my dog.  </div><div> </div><div>JenniNZ, Happy New Year.  Thanks for asking about my family.  Losing my dad in April remains difficult for everyone, and we are still grieving.  My Birthday was particularly difficult. Happily, my family and extended family, while small, are close and supportive. There has been no interpersonal drama or difficulty.  Sassy and Elf remain perfect for you and I always look forward to reading your posts.  I have learned much from you, especially in adopting better habits around wardrobe churn and making an effort to purchase sustainably produced items. I look forward to seeing how you add sporty items/style to your wardrobe.  Classic and colorful seem to be longtime favorites for you.  While I love color, I have never been able to create a specific palate to focus on and then make purchases with focus on that palette. Instead my palette seems to evolve based on what items are available at the time I shop that might work with a light summer seasonal palette. It often means I buy neutrals and grey… Helena, for me the contrasts promote creativity.  You may recall that at one point DD32 insightfully observed that I tend to have functional fixedness.  This set of adjectives seems to help me mix and match in new ways. LJP, my husband loves Tolkien.  Over 37+ years together I have also become a fan.  The moniker also helps foster some creativity.  My word of the year is Embodiment because I have spent previously spent a lot of time developing my personal style. Staysfit on "2026 Style Focus" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/2026-style#post-2402641 Thu, 08 Jan 2026 14:02:12 +0000 Staysfit 2402641@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ 6 months ago I re-evaluated my style statement and style adjectives.  I came up with the style statement Ethereal Composed.  I tried on a few style monikers and Everyday Galadriel was my top pick, (thanks Sal who suggested Modern Practical Galadriel.  While I do have a keen sense of personal style, honing the list of adjectives became a bit difficult.  After my re-evaluation, I opted for the following words, ethereal, elongated, luminous, sleek, poetic, assured. However,  Angie suggested the word "sporty" as a replacement for luminous and/or assured.  I considered and experimented with various options and finally came up with: ethereal, sleek, poetic, sporty Ethereal incorporates the light and luminous aspects of my style and maybe my color palette.  Sleek my all time favorite adjective and describes my best style lines.  Poetic encompasses aspects of subtle strength, powerfully pretty, softly bold, and quiet elegance, which Angie said she see's in my style.  Poetic also includes some mystery, stillness and movement.  When I was considering adjectives, another option in place of poetic, was lyrical, but I felt this evoked louder and frillier items that would not be part of my style preferences. Sporty is for my athletic side, the tendency to mix in a bit of casual with my refined pieces, and assuredness.  Compared with previous iterations, I believe this is the shortest and most accurately descriptive of my personal style.   I am happy with the final outcome and look forward to making use of these in 2026.
