And silver lug-soled sandals were my summer update. </p> <p>My shoe goals for next year? I have a lot of black boots, since they are essential to my style, and they tend to last for years because I have several and rotate them fairly evenly. </p> <p>Some of my old boots are not as comfortable as they used to be (higher heels, hard footbeds), so they’re becoming more “occasion” shoes. I don’t want to let them go yet, but I’m definitely defaulting to comfort more and more. I like a pointed toe slingback with pants, too -- especially with cigarette style, or wide crops. Less with full length wider pants, because the hems can interfere with the backs of the shoes. Slingbacks are&nbsp; especially tough for me, due to heel slippage, but the style Carla has mysteriously also works for me, so I delight in them!.&nbsp;</p> <p>My strategy, if you can call it that, is pretty much to look for what holes are there and try to fill with comfortable, walkable options.
