Linen seems to have a personality of its own so I have different methods for different garments.<br /> I have some linen that I dry completely in the dryer and it does not shrink, but I mostly line dry and then iron some. Sheets and duvet covers are the only linen things I don’t usually iron. Pillow cases and all clothes get ironed after wash.&nbsp;<div><b>Janet,&nbsp;</b>I would suggest to wash your shirt with fabric softener, shake and air dry. Do not iron, maybe only the collar. Linen pieces soften quite a bit over their lifetime. Heat also affects them, so a hang-dried linen shirt will be rough and crunchy until ironed, while a tumble-dried one will be soft and bouncy. Then I found a lovely (NWT) pair of linen blend trousers at a local consignment store this spring and decided I would try the blend to see if they worked better for me. Plus, they were 50% off so it was a small investment of $10 to see whether they would work or not. I really like them and just bought another pair that are linen blend in another color (new and at full retail... although H&amp;M). </p> <p>I've been looking for bottoms to wear in the summer that were not jeans so at least for the Summer of 2023, these will be my choice.
