I have some half-aprons from when I was selling at craft-fairs. Maybe I should press them into service on occasion, especially when I'm cleaning or organizing and could use the handy pockets. slim cat, right with you on the tank tops. In fact, I cut the sleeves off of most of my graphic tees.  suntiger, man, it doesn't start really feeling like summer to me until it's over 80° and I save my breeziest summer clothes for days over 95. They give me easily accessible pockets to carry my phone (without it falling out), reading glasses, and tissues. I don't like to dust so they keep my front clean, I avoid food spills, and to an extent the toothpaste splatters when the toothbrush doesn't turn off as intended. DH does the cooking so I have to nag more to get him to wear a chef's coat or an apron. Over the past year, he's gone thrifting in LA, Denver, Paris, Antwerp, and London for a fabulously eclectic wardrobe! indigoprint, those were all last year's goals! We'll see what this next year brings. MsMaven, I think our feet really take on "character" as we age. All of the little injuries I've had over time have become more pronounced and problematic the older I get! Suz, perhaps one of my goals this year should be taking more photos! I'd like to have a better record of what I wore in a particular year. It's so fun to look back at old outfit pictures. pirouette, thank you! That gold-on-gold is a fave! Olive Green, I wore that outfit to walk to the grocery store, so the bag, in particular, is just a net market bag! Jules, my graphic tees are getting so much more wear now! As others have said, no one wears a kimono better than you!  Shoes are just so hard to get right. (Several of my own fails were footwear this year, too. Sigh.) I don't think there is much we can do about it. We try. We go with brands that have worked in the past but sometimes a person needs to branch out. And alas, it does not always work.  I think graphic tees as walkwear is brilliant. Repurpose for the win!  Your goals last year were reasonable and do-able and you achieved them. I ended up purchasing 26 wardrobe items this past year, all of which you can see in the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/finds/collections/?collection=12360">linked collection</a> above. I've also put some specifically mentioned pieces down in Finds. Not every piece has been a winner. It took a few wears for me to realize that the Vans I purchased weren't for me. They never did manage to break in. I can't seem to resist buying graphic tees, but I really don't wear them as much as I imagine I do. Over the past month or so, I've started wearing them for morning walks instead of as regular daywear, which I've really been enjoying! I went back today to look at my 2023 style goals, because at this point they've long been forgotten. Here’s how they worked out. 1. Beef up my options for when it's sunny and 72°. My solution for this has been to add a few lightweight, kimono-style toppers (see Finds). They're perfect for tossing over a silk or linen tank and make it easy to adapt to temperature fluctuations from day to night. 2. Be more impulsive. I bought a few GORGEOUS items, maybe not on impulse, but definitely on emotion rather than logic. My velvet crane duster and gold pleated cami dress aren't at all practical, but they're beautiful and make me happy. The silk crane kimono below was also such a purchase, in a museum gift store, and I don't regret it. 3. Put together a travel capsule for Europe in spring. My <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/finds/collections/?collection=12222">capsule</a> was fantastic! 4. Wear an apron when I cook. Two aprons now hang at the entrance to my kitchen. I don't always remember to put them on, but I'm doing much better! -- I didn't take as many outfit pics as I would have liked--just under one per week on average, but here are a few that made me happy to look back on.
