I don't plan to be very "rigid" about it but it might not work out and I get that. I thought it sounded like a great idea too , and planned out two outfit plans for August and September . Month one was good , got what I wanted , but it fell apart in month two when I didn’t find anything that fit my plan . I also felt that that was simply too much to buy over the course of a year if I wanted to stick to better-not-more purchasing . So while I could easily buy 12 new pair of shoes or sneakers or boots in a year, or 12 new bottoms , there is no way I’d buy that many bags or coats or jackets . Somehow looking at that many pieces in the bigger picture shocked some sense into me ;). No judgment for those who buy that much , but with an average cost of say $600- $1000 per outfit (depending on season) I couldn’t do that for 12 months . I think too that my failure came because I planned the outfit ahead of time , then couldn’t source what I wanted . Time went by , and nothing ended up being purchased - thus the whole thing fell apart . Nodded along to every word.  For me those mini-adventures also helped me figure out fit issues. I was thinking that it would be fun to go into Zara and try on a bunch of trendy stuff ...but the only one near me had STILL not opened up their dressing rooms since Covid shut downs as of a couple of months ago. I was in a TJMaxx yesterdayand they've already moved out ALL of the Christmas household décor and a lot of the winter clothing and have started on the Jan 1 switchover they do every year where they put rows of workout gear into the front of the store ... to go with all those NY resolutions I guess.
