<p>Sounds like a great plan! I want to work on a hiking/camping capsule too this year. And just because the work dress code is more casual doesn't mean you have to

<p>Bijou, that's a lovely dress. I saw it today in the Cue section of Myer, and yes, considerably reduced, but not in my size. I am happy to wait. This is very much a want, not a need! </p>
<p>Angie, thanks. My waistline is the first place to expand and then to contract, with weight gain and loss, so you don't always see pictures from me with a tucked look at times like now (post Christmas /vacation/family birthday celebration)

<p><b>Anne</b>, I see a perfect waistline on your fit and healthy body. Don't give it another thought. Tuck and semi-tuck tops and show your girls how it's done!

<p>Anne, this is a great plan. One of my favourite Cue dresses is currently on sale - it is a micro check of black and white (so looks charcoal) and it mixes with lots of colours in my wardrobe - really pretty with my blush faux fur in cooler weather or nice with a string of pearls and white strappy sandals for summer. I have put the dress in finds. It also washes up a dream, I no longer purchase any dresses that are dry clean only.

<p>This seems sensible and practical, Anne. I am nodding at your idea for crease-free summer dresses. I'd think this would be a necessity in your climate -- so much cooler than shorts! And for holidays, especially important. Gear companies often make this type of thing.&nbsp;

<p><div><b>Bridgie</b> - yes I meant to comment on your thread. All the best with the rest of your edit. Perhaps mine wasn't big by your standards. It took about an hour and resulted in 4 shopping bags to go to the opshop (still in my card - local op shop not accepting donations!) plus another of worn out ones&nbsp; that I discarded.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>&nbsp;Rachy</b> - I like outfits where you can just add leggings too! The campsite we last stayed at permitted dogs (though we don't have one), but we didn't hike ( I love to, but the family wasn't keen and I went with their wishes and just jogged by myself one morning and read a lot)</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Liesbeth and La Ped</b> - thanks for the camping gear recommendations. La Ped - I thought you would have some ideas about that Have you shown us a recent picture of your grown out hair?</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Angie - </b>I feel I need a lot of guidance with the high waisted trend actually - apart from just wearing them and covering up the top. I have to balance my feelings about my mid 40's waistline. DD16 and DD13 are quite into high waisted items now and at that age, look super.<b>&nbsp;</b><i></i> I need an iteration of the look that is suitable to my age and not, to use an expression&nbsp; I don't think you like, "mutton dressed as lamb".<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Cardiff Girl</b> - thanks<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></p>

<p>Can't wait to see your hair grow-out process! I let mine grow back to a bob last year and am now trying to decide whether to keep going down to my shoulders or chop it back to chin length. I'm within an inch or two of my shoulders now, so probably won't change anything until the weather is warmer (I'm a wuss about chopping my hair in the winter! It feels so chilly!).&nbsp;</p>
<p>For hiking/camping dresses, I've had good luck with Prana and Icebreaker. Title Nine always has cute options but I haven't tried any of their dresses. And Athleta as well. Not sure which of those labels besides Icebreaker is readily available in Australia.&nbsp;

<p>GREAT plan. You were MADE to wear high waisted bottoms. Milk it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is a really sensible and balanced list - lots of essential and practical items, with a nice sprinkling of 'trends' and current pieces to keep your look up-to-date. Well done!</p>
<p>Ditto Liesbeth on the gear brands for camping dresses - Lululemon sprang to mind.

<p>I think a lot of gear brands make crease-resistant dresses. Haven't tried any yet though. I own one dress in a pre-creased (crinkly) fabric, which is also a dream for traveling.

<p>... I really like dresses and skirts for camping. When it gets cold in the evening, you can just throw on some leggings. Admittedly, with dogs not permitted on trails, I don’t do a lot of hiking anymore... I’d wear long pants for protection for that.

<p><div>I'm jumping on to this wagon...</div><div><br />
</div><div>I"ve just done a big edit, and feel ready to look forward. Much of what went was either handed down clothes that I was trying out but ultimately decided wasn't my style or worn out items that I have decided I have a replacement for and so could cull. I don't cull easily so some dated back 10 years!</div><div><br />
</div><div>Thoughts for 2020</div><div><b>Hair/makeup -<i> </i></b>I plan to grow my hair again - probably to a bob - not sure if I'll go longer.</div><div><br />
</div><div>My next makeup replacement is going to be dewy, not matte. My skin is on the dry side and while that worked quite well for me when I was younger, it's time for a change in my mid 40s</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>Shoes</b> - I've posted recently that I need to renew here. Particular changes are an emphasis on comfort and on moving to flatter shoes for work. Need to buy sandals, casual sneakers and work shoes<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>Working on the highwaisted trend.</b> Highwaisted things are good for me in terms of my vertical proportions (I have a very long torso). I also like the feel of them. But I need more tops to work with them. Really only have 2 or 3 at the moment. <br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>I am toying with shelling out for ultra highwaisted jeans, as high waisted on my long rise isn't really that high.</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>Work</b> I'm a bit conflicted here. Our dress code has changed to a more casual one. I don't really need more dedicated office clothing and for the last 2 years have bought flexible items that will do for smart casual as well. BUT - I have a real soft spot for a well made tailored sheath, especially by Cue (for reference, look at <b>Bijou</b> - she often wears Cue). So if I find one at half price I"ll snap it up. <br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>Camping</b> - this has become a much bigger part of our lives recently - we've spent 3 weeks camping in 2019 and I envisage it'll be part of our lives a lot in the future as DH has invested in much equipment! It's a lot cheaper than other accommodation. I'd like some denim shorts and am imagining a hot weather dress that is not crushable (all my high summer dresses crush). And maybe a tank.<br />
I'd quite like to get some full length gear patterned leggings but DDs aren't keen :-)<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>So shopping list - some not discussed above as are just more replacements<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>Shoes</b></div><div><b></b>Sandals</div><div>casual sneakers</div><div>Work flats</div><div><b><br />
</b></div><div><b>Gear/camping</b></div><div>leggings<b><br />

Eta new bathers!<br />
</b></div><div><b><br />
