I don't know what that is yet, exactly, but I like the idea, and with tan colors trending, there are going to be lots of options, I think. I haven't found my right gray either. I've had to accept that solid white items, for me, tend to be statements. I *do* like optic white in the right context and fabrication (see denim jacket below). But the white denim jacket feels so BRIGHT when I wear it that it definitely falls into statement territory. I also like bone and stone colours (see sweater below), whites that have a smidge of grey or brown in them rather than a smidge of yellow. For some reason those feel easier to wear; creams are a little "meh" on me, though I do have a lacy cream scarf I'm pretty fond of. I am with you on the white/cream -  it is tricky.  I also don't like optic white that much and it washes me out terribly. I don't like optic white, and I don't like an ivory that's too yellow. I still have the pieces below, but I don't wear them like essentials. The tank is at 24 wears, 14 on the Boden top, and 20 on the sweater. I do like the color of the tank and blouse, although I'm terrible at keeping light colors clean, so there's that. They look a little worse for wear, even at their current number of wears. LA summer heat isn't that different from Colorado heat...it just lasts longer. I'll wear skirts and dresses. I didn't include my skirts in essentials because they're all statements or completers in my wardrobe. Is this for colour flattery reasons, or just a desire to switch up your palette a bit? I'm also curious to know what your essential bottoms will be in LA when the heat makes jeans miserable. Floaty full skirts instead of denim perhaps? Or more reliance on dresses? Toppers------------------------------- black linen cardigan taupe cashmere cardigan navy merino cardigan If I were replacing these, I wouldn't necessarily choose the same colors, but having the various weights covered is essential for me, and this is what's in my closet right now. Outerwear---------------------------- black puffer tan trench Accessories and Jewelry-------- simple gold necklaces (varied lengths) plain cashmere scarf brown leather crossbody bag brown leather tote black clutch brown belt
