None of the greens are exactly the same but they all tone, also with earrings I already had. It gives me a new outfit for the teal shoes. I took the duster off for much of work today but put it back on a couple of times when it got colder. And yes the sandals sang to me. You bags, shoes and wrap go together so well and how lovely that every time you use these special pieces it will remind you of that wonderful family occasion.</p> <p>As for the new purchases, you have done really well. It sounds as though you have added some great statement pieces, I am loving the velvet topper in picture one and also well done on replacing your favourite snakeskin pants. The gold sandals are classic Jenni style, so it is a bonus that you got them on sale. I think things that you love and then buy after seeing them go on sale - is not "sales goggles" but rather an exercise is being patient and waiting until the price is right.</p> <p>I have one brand that I love, but consider out of my price range, so I wait until the sales and then pick up one or two items at 50% off. I might not always get exactly what I would have chosen at full price, but invariably I am wowed by the cut and the new item is a great addition to my work wardrobe. I didn’t actually sign up, but thought to myself I would try to keep under 30 if possible. This would be in line with last year ( 29 items) but more than 2017, my first year on YLF, which was deliberately lower, 18 I think. That year ( or from late November 2016 until end December 2017) did include 2 3-month shopping fasts. My shopping was out of control at the time.<br /> In 5 months I have 14 “normal” purchases plus 6 “extra”- not usually counted, 3 of those are for my MOB outfit- 2 clutches and a wrap, one a beanie( hats are a rare, uncounted purchase) and one new gumboots ( Wellington boots) which are only the third pair of my adult life. One is earrings which were free as a “VIP”.<br /> So I’m not quite hitting my goal. My first purchase didn’t happen until 24 Feb as I was happy wearing all my summer clothes until then and not buying ahead.<br /> Purchases: dark green houndstooth leggings bought in Feb for upcoming winter, worn for the first time today in June now it’s cold. Also dark green longsleeved top to match. Pics 1 &amp; 2.<br /> Silver linen shorts bought on sale end of summer worn 9 times already in warm autumn. Almost to my knees as trying to hide thighs!<br /> Black/gold mesh top, dressy, couldn’t resist. Pic 3.<br /> Olive/bronze singlet/tank for next summer. On sale down from $280 to $50. Decorative bronze beading on chiffony fabric. I saw it when at full price and was very drawn to it, but would never pay $280 for a tank!<br /> Duplicate olive snakeskin pants and same kind in ink. Reduced from $179 each to $60 each. New olive worn 3 times since demoted the old ones, ink worn 12 times already.<br /> Olive long cardigan, ink long cardigan. One acrylic one merino. One bought April, one May. Each had 5 wears already.<br /> Gold sandals with bright threads on sale, for next summer. Love. Been on wish list for ages. Pic 4.<br /> Cobalt dress for daughter’s wedding.<br /> Taupe/silver sandals for same. 2 clutches as couldn’t decide. Silvery grey wrap. Pics 5 and 6. Artificial light not the best to show the colours.<br /> Navy singlet/tank from outlet store $20. For next summer. I wear this kind of thing a lot.<br /> Black summer top to rescue my Laura Ashley silk skirt next summer on the forum’s advice. Hope it works.<br /> I guess I may still have some sales goggles? </p>
